I honestly think that most AAA games are pretty static nowadays. You'd think that destruction would've evolved until now but games like Red Faction Guerrilla or Battlefield Bad Company 2 are still pretty unique despite their age.

Hi GameRanx, thanks for all the kind words about Instruments of Destruction! Truly honored to be on the list. One more detail that might be of interest: I also worked on Red Faction Guerrilla for 5 years (lead technical designer).
-
Control is such a great game and absolutely deserved to be on this list
-
When I first pulled a block of concrete off a pillar in Control my eyes popped. A small detail, but for me, made a huge difference. Truly felt like anything built could to some extent be turned into a weapon.
-
control was a amazing game and i can`t wait for the sequel
-
Control is probably the only game I can play repeatedly without getting bored of it. The random encounters that are always different. The destruction. The crazy plot. It's just too good.
-
Teardown also has great fire and smoke physics. The way the smoke can build up, and seep through tiny gaps is cool.
-
In Control, not only are the physics incredible, but every single item, down to a piece of paper, is INCREDIBLE detailed. It's fun just walking around and seeing how detailed everything is.
-
I'm actually surprised Outer Wilds isn't on this list. That game basically simulates a miniature solar system with all the orbital physics and (fictional) quantum physics! Love that game.
-
Im glad that Teardown made it in the video however I think too much emphasis was placed on it being a heist game. While the campaign is like that, you can also play all the maps in sandbox mode with infinite ammunition, etc. Also the game's modding community is core to the game. The developers promote modding and there are many terrific mods available to download on the steam workshop.
-
I love the concept of Snow Runner. I still can't believe this a game.
-
Wreckfest has soft body physics and is pretty damn fun
-
Dishonored! Felt like a playground for otherworldly powers and weapons, plus the art direction works so well with world and physics
-
I disagree with Falco saying teardown has basic graphics. Sure, it's voxel based, with blocky textures, but the lighting, reflections, bloom and all the other effects? Top notch!
-
I remember playing soldier of fortune 23 years ago, that was mind-blowing. It was such an amazing experience, it was wild 😍
-
Noita deserved a spot on this list. Impressive and unique.
-
HL2, GTA IV and BeamNG are very notable for me
-
need a 10 games with mindblowing PHYSIQUES 👀
-
game physics is one of the coolests things for me and I wish modern games would work less on better grafics and more on game physics
-
BeamNG simulates every moving part of the vehicle and it's wildly impressive. Over the years they've made the driving feel pretty good too
