What Cody said is a half truth. HHH was involved in the initial writing of the "pipebomb". However, that is not the version that aired on television. CM Punk worked with HHH as well as the writers to come up with a "acceptable" version of what he wantsd to say so that it could get passed by Vince. What many higher ups didnt know at the time is that CM Punk had a version of his own in which he went into far greater detail and far beyond the boundaries of what the first one allowed. For those who think I am making this up i encourage you to look up CM Punk talking about this exact same thing.

It makes sense. He along with Shawn Michaels were DX! Everything they did and said was rebelling against the authority which was Vince. He knows better than anyone how to play that angle.

The strange problem is with the fans, they hate him and they have no personal problem with him.
