In this video lesson, GM Igor Smirnov shares with you the winning attacking plan for White in the Italian Game which happens after the opening moves: 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4. And Black usually responds with 3...Bc5 which is the Giuoco Piano or with 3...Nf6 which is the Two Knights Defense.

Both these main variations lead to similar positions and the position after 4.d3 is one of the most common positions. And that's the position where a lot of the amateur and club players make common errors or play very simple moves and lose the game eventually.

However, in this video you will learn the winning attacking plan for White in the Italian Game. GM Igor Smirnov will show you how to execute this aggressive attack against many variations and setups of Black. One of these examples include the game played by the former world champion Garry Kasparov!

Been playing this for about 6 months. Under 1400 almost everyone goes for pinning the knight. Such a powerful opening. Thanks for covering it.
  • I've played Italian 800ish times , never knew it could be this Attacking and SOO MUCH FUN , THANKS AGAIN

At my level (1000-1100) pawn to h3 often ends up with capturing the knight on f3 and recapturing the bishop w the g pawn or the queen. Rarely does the bishop retreat. I'm curious to see the theory after that exchange

GM Igor, tomorrow September 5th is celebrated as Teachers Day in India in memory of one of our former Presidents Dr.S.Radhakrishnan who was a teacher himself before becoming President The hallmarks of a great teacher are breadth and depth of knowledge, ability to make students think and of course endless patience. People coming back to your channel have seen all of these qualities. Thank you and Happy Teachers Day !
