  • Honestly. Im not even grossed out by this stuff. I lived by the strict survivalist philosophy that "If its edible, I will eat it"

As a life-long learner, who actually did a paper in college on the subject of foods through history, most of this I knew. It won't stop me from enjoying honey - usually locally sourced, unfiltered raw, and a couple other items on the list. Luckily for me my allergy to cow milk has kept me dairy free for over 4 decades, and as time has gone by I am eating a more and more plant-based diet. Cooking from scratch, using the best ingredients I can afford, saves me money and my health. At nearly 70 my doctor is in awe of my health - still not on any medicines, just a few vitamins, mostly calcium to maintain my bones, and D because while Florida has plenty of sun, too much is a serious cancer risk.

Worked in a meat processing factory during my student summer breaks 1968 - 1971. Been vegetarian ever since!

Having grown up in a very rural area I've patted the pigs, and cows that I later dined on. Seen animals carved up for meals too (wild game generally). Grandpa was a beekeeper and I'll tell you a big treat was to get fresh pieces honeycombs to chew on like some kind of natural wax lips type candy. Nothing like fresh bee vomit and spit to make a kid happy. Yes I knew what it was made from a young age. My dad had a habit of telling us "gross sounding things" to teach us about stuff like that. Actually kind of cool growing up like that if I'm being totally honest. Funniest trick he taught me was how to tell male and female pobsters apart. I miss him.

You can make your own healthy orange juice 🍊 remove the skin of the orange and put it in a blender with water and blend until smooth. Remember the juice is more tasty and filling since it has the fiber. Hope this helps you 💛😊
  • I use to work for MARS (think mars bars) a number of years ago on the hubba bubba line making grape flavour. The flavour power was that explosive before being mixed that the drum it was kept in had to be grounded to avoid sparks. i heard about one guy that didnt gorund the drum properly and it exploded leaving a 3m hole in the cinder block wall behind it. that area of the factory was closed for like 6 months while it was inspected and repaired.
  • Ahhh yes, Monster Energy Something i use to Drink Daily, untill i Had to Go in the ER for insane pain in my lower right Side of my Back. Turns Out i Had 4 5mm big Kidney Stones. Since then i havent drank 1 Energy anymore
  • 18:00 Boiling the Monster leaving that tar like substance. Wouldn't that basically just be caramel? Caramel is just melted sugar, so boiling away all that water is just leaving behind candy. Granted it's still a ton of sugar, and extra caffeine and chemicals.

Quick note about the beaver poop. Although most of what he said about it wad correct, Castorium is actually found in the chemical makeup of vanilla. So, when people try to make an artificial version of vanilla, they use Castorium so that the chemical makeup of said vanilla is the exact same as real vanilla. The more you know.
  • collagen is also good for your skin/hair and is used in make-up, shampoo, health supplements (daily doses) all the way to jello. thou if i recall you can also use seaweed variants if you want, but idk what they call it...
  • @tylerleitzke
Castoreum was used heavily in the 20th century because it was cheaper and largely more available than vanilla at the time. However, aside from it's still wide use in Sweden, it's very rarely used anymore.
