Give the Monte some traction and it will dispose of the Mercedes fairly easily. The Monte was still fighting for traction @ half track. Not to say the traction control on the Mercedes was not actively limiting power either.
  • @VampyrMygg
it most likley would, but it diden't, it was wet, and this favored the newer car with all those fancy gizmos new cars come with.
  • @mistadiscovery
I agree the monte was skidding and the traction was horrible.
  • @VampyrMygg
    it is a s13, i'm in Norway, the s14 is a 200SX and the s13 is a 200SX, wich is pretty much a 180SX with a CA18DET, very "sporty"
  • @VampyrMygg
    i've smoked a '90 200SX s13 in my granny's Ford Ka, "sports cars" ain't always that... sporty :p

wow a new 100k turbo diesel mercedes beat a 305 Ci V8 slushbox monte how unpredictable!
  • @tpvalley
Its horses for courses! ie each car has its pros and cons, old v8 with fixable bits or new merc with electronics etc. The bhp may be similar on both? I agree that it seems unfair when the diesels r turbo charged like in le-mans, diesels r bigger cc and turbo.
  • @tpvalley
ys but in lemans the diesels r allowed turbos and much more CC, a real competition would be same size engines allowed but diesels having turbos. What rpm will a 510V8 race motor rev to? Being big they wont rev to high- 8000rpm? These mercs r getting over 6000rpm and I have seen a vw diesel revving to 7500 (race engine!).I wonder what lemans diesel revs to?
  • @tecnhotica
sweet said chevymontecarlossman..Where in norway is this?
  • @mageac
well the merc is at least 20 years new... if it didn't win their would be something incredibly wrong... stock for stock that is
  • @akshona
Was that a monte carlo or a grand national?
  • @VampyrMygg
those are foreign cars to us outside the US...
  • @crazychrisva
Well I guess so. The Mercedes was a late model and the Monte Carlo was from the 80s. My dad had three Monte Carlo SS's from the 80s, and like all American cars from that period, they sucked as far as performance goes. They were comfortable and handled well, though.
  • @cjdistheman1
grand national engine are softer not deep and heavy you would''ve heard air from da turbo so no its a Monte Carlo
  • @VampyrMygg
only 60k? that's one cheap mercedes :p it's in Norway, the politicians hate cars, they cost the double here usually.
  • Sounds like the poor monte carlo is spinning tires on wet pavement? That damn mercedes prolly has traction control. Thats no race. blah :(
