As a black person, I have to call this out. The treatment Caitlin has received by some of her peers in the W, some predecessors like Sheryl, and some members of the media is a mixture of envy, hate, and racism. In order for our people to keep our credibility, we need to call this behavior out no matter what form it takes. Sheryl was a great basketball player but she is blinded by her disdain for Caitlin. There is no way she can say Angel is more worthy of ROTY over Caitlin at this point in the year. Sheryl knows better but decides to use lies to paint a negative picture of Caitlin. The stats don't lie, Caitlin is setting rookie records while taking much more difficult shots and facing more defensive pressure. Angel just sits under the basket and collects rebounds from her own misses. Saying Caitlin is a bully?! Does Sheryl even watch the interviews and games? Caitlin has praised Sheryl and I was a fan of Sheryl but there is no way I can support her opinion on this.
