  • Some good ones here, I also suggest Anatomy for Sculptors; it's just as good for 2D artists as it has great anatomy references and breaks down into simple shapes and block forms at various angles. It has become one of my favorite anatomy resources, that Bridgman but I had to learn from Erik Gist's tutorials on how to really understand and study Bridgman; but Anatomy for Sculptors anyone can learn and apply from the start. If you draw animals, the best books I've found are Animal Anatomy for Artists by Eliot Goldfinger and Ken Hultgren's Art of Animal drawing, and An Atlas of Animal Anatomy for Artists. These are obviously books you don't need, but can be tremendously helpful if you have a focus on animals.

I bought the first one one year and a half ago and I can say for sure that it is a great plus to any artists book library! Not only because it has great information in it, you can always go back to it when creating a new piece and want to refresh what you studied before. Great advices man!!
