The 1973 Plymouth Duster is back! I'm taking the tired slant 6 and 904 transmission out in favor a 351 stroker and 727 transmission.

Sure do miss this car but I’m glad to see she’s getting a new life!

WOOO HOOO!!! Saturday night excitement! Thank you for all that you do, Derek! As busy as you are, you never stop giving more to us, your fans! Bless you, my good sir!

Fellete here! That was a fun video. And you had fun doing it, in spite of having a cold? Which speaks to your always positive attitude, always finding a way to make things work, and always being an inspiration. Thank you, Derek!

Nothing like drinking a cold fo'tee of PBR and spending some time with my favorite back woods mechanic Big Derek! Derek is why this country is as great as it is! Awesome Dustpan build!

I really like how a guy has videos coming out at random non-scheduled time. Was wearing my VGG shirt today at the store and someone stopped me and said they also are a fan. Very cool. Thank you Derek for what you do.
  • Id love to see the white Cadillac with new rear wheel skirts and all cleaned up. That was probably one of the best recovery vids as well!

I subscribed a few months ago, Found you through Cletus. I enjoy the videos so much I’ve gone back to watch all the historical videos. I used to be able to work on cars and now I’m laid up due to medical issues, but I can still get my thrill through this channel. I love your wit and it’s pretty cool you have your family involved. They appear very well raised and have awesome parents, and they will grow up to appreciate all they have been taught.
  • This is a great video! I will put up a video of the interworking's of the engine when we put it together this weekend for anyone interested! Thanks Derrick!

And to think I started watching this channel when he had like 990 subscribers blows me away. Shoe lace polishing a crank I knew it would take off . One of a kind .

I am 58, and have projects like this. I do most of my work alone, like it seems that Derek here mostly does. There is a certain way that Derek makes this look fun, and not exhausting. But don't think for a minute that this is not hard work that beats you up every minute. And to do all of this while under the weather - yet keep it entertaining?.. These are qualities that I can appreciate. I went ahead & bought a Bland-National T to support all this. Bravo.

I live for weird engine swaps like this. Absolutely love this build. Never in my life would I have imagined viper rods going in a 318
  • @Zappy1210
Always loved these 70's Duster/Dart bodies.
  • @mikellewis2346
I struggle to watch a tv show when sick, this guy does engine swaps. Your a legend Derek 💯✊️✊️✊️

Derek, I found this channel a little while back and I gotta say, your channel is treasure! I just love every one of them from start to finish. Thanks for allowing all of us to hang out with you while you work on these old girls. You crack me up😆
  • @markbrown6236
So far so good, love the unique engine build. That's part of what makes your channel great.
  • @vorpalmotors
I've got a 72 Duster project I'm working on getting back on the road, so I was really excited to see you digging back into this one with a super interesting shadetree hotrod setup.
  • @Hobodeluxe960
My late friend/ bro-in -law had a 73 Duster 340 4spd. Man we had fun in that thing. RIP Dewey. Dewey's Duster was red with the white stripes. 340 emblems on the quarters.
  • I don't know how you do all you do, but major respect! You're single handedly motivating the rest of us!
  • @firewalker1372
I like how he’s always throwing batteries around 😂. I’ve never ever bought merch off of a YouTuber. That changed when I started watching this channel. Got a closet with a bunch of VGG swag in it 🤣.
  • Derek im loving this build so far cant wait to see more. Please do a repaint of this as well. I know my neighbors have to hate me because I love watching these as I wet my back neck and you always have me laughing loud as ever. Great video and as always thank you for the amazing content can wait to see what more is to come.
