Ranking Every Final Fantasy Game

Love seeing 10 and 16 so high, couldn't get into 8 though. Had to skip some of the other games because you were talking about spoilers but it's always interesting seeing people's FF rankings!

Our opinions differ quite a bit, but here's my TOP10 list (I've played them all): 1. FFIX 2. FFVI 3. FFVII 4. FFIV 5. FFV 6. FFX 7. FFVIII 8. FFIII 9. FFI 10. FFXV FFXV might be controversial, but I loved the cast and soundtrack so much it makes it into the TOP10 just because those things.

Glad to see someone likes VIII. It is in my top 3 favorites.

I'm told from many of my friends that have played all three of Final Fantasy XIII that the original game is a joke Final Fantasy XIII-2 has a big correction with a lot of the issues with 13 and all of them say that Lightning Returns is the only game you should actually consider giving time to play

I consider ALL Final Fantasy games to be Equally the Best throughout the years. 1. Final Fantasy I 2. Final Fantasy II 3. Final Fantasy III 4. Final Fantasy IV 5. Final Fantasy V 6. Final Fantasy VI 7. Final Fantasy VII franchises 8. Final Fantasy VIII 9. Final Fantasy IX 10. Final Fantasy X 11. Final Fantasy XI 12. Final Fantasy XII 13. Final Fantasy XIII franchise 14. Final Fantasy XIV franchises 15. Final Fantasy XV franchises 16. Final Fantasy XVI (Brand Newest FF Game from last year in 2023) They all have the Best Protagonistic Heroic Final Fantasy Heroes & the Best Antagonistic Villainous Final Fantasy Villains, the Best characters, the backgrounds, the atmospheres, the Best Epic Soundtracks, you name it.

I will rank only the final fantasies that I have beaten 1 FFX I also have 1000's of hours playtime from ps2,3,&4and5 also love blitzball not sorry platinum trophy 2 FF16 working on platinum 3 FF15 not sorry, platinum trophy 4 FF7 Remake Im playing rebirth now, just dont have time to play them all sadly, eventually i will bc i already own them. Original 7,8,9,12 zodiac are in library type-0,crisis core, they just released grandia collection witch has paused my rebirth play temporarily, the last remnant. Its craze but eventually lol

Labeling FFXVI a "near flawless game" is crazy to me. I've played every singleplayer mainline FF since X and XVI is the one I probably like the least, except for X-2 maybe. I actually can't think of many aspects of XVI that aren't flawed. 😅

I didnt quite understand but can you clarify what made FF3 > FF6 one more time? Ain't nothing wrong with ranking a beloved came like 6 lower? If anything, nostalgia has a sense of blinding a lot of people from seeing flaws in a game because they choose to remember only what they choose to remember. I never played FF3 but I know the job system was used in this one so that makes the game more customized in that sense. What else made FF3 the better of the classic sprite titles?

The system in 13 is basically a lower down sphere grid. So I didn’t have any problems with that part of 13. Though yes the story makes it lack more I still enjoyed the game myself. FF4 to me is one of the best I loved the combat and story a lot. The original/3D remake/PSP version were all great for sure. But it’s second place for me with FFX being first. FF16 is such a gem. The story and combat are so amazing. So that’d probably be placed in either 3rd or 4th for me. FF7 remake being 3rd or 4th as well. Undecided. lol

I am playing FF4 right now. A great rpg. I must obtain no 13 someday, although everyone say that it's bad.

I totally agree on 10 being the best, I've played that game until my eyes bled. I've done literally everything except for that one chocobo race where you have to finish in under zero....I hare rage quit so many times that I gave up on it.

dude you miss 9 dint you? ohh i see it now you should probabli put it in the time segments. some places on the list are weird but is one of the best rankings i watch on youtube at least 15 is way back.

For me it would be best to worst... 6, 7, 9, 10, 8 then the others are kind of a toss up. Id put 13 at dead last though.

I am almost done with ff7 the original I just have a lot of grinding to leveling up my characters. For ff8, do you know how the card game works I am stuck on that I need a weapon for a certain big boss fight I am approaching the end of that game too

12 was the one that was the worst for me. I just can’t stand it. I have tried three different times to like it.

X2 above VI and IV? seriously?

FF16 is amazing. Its objectively worse than some of the modern "masterpieces" released this gen, but no other game has made me feel so powerful, sad, excited, etc like FF16!
