I’m shocked that at an international airport they don’t at least have access to an interpreter service by phone. No bilingual employees working these areas? This situation must arise daily... how frustrating!

The part where he seizes the guy’s cash pissed me off. I didn’t know it was illegal to bring large amounts of cash unless you also bring documents of where it came from.

Anyone know what is the level of education of these Customs Agents? Their communication skills and levels of comprehension & logic based on the interactions with those 'caught' seriously points out that their flaws.

And these nosy officers think they’re cool. The Jamaican specifically carried no more than £10000 so it wouldn’t get seized since that’s the limit and boom, “I’m taking your own money from you because you might be going to buy drugs with it in another country”. Even if that was true, you can’t prove it, and shouldn’t be able to take someone else’s money.

Arresting people for not paying taxes on cigarettes is about the most wasteful use of time and resources I can imagine.
