Goats are HERD animals. Elsa probably would have been fine if you had rented her a herd buddy at the same time.

Why did my brain think the goat was gonna fight the lawnmower :/
-
This is the most relaxing goat video i have ever seen

We kept three pygmy goats on 2 acres in the Santa Cruz mountains. We never had to mow the grass because they kept it nicely trimmed, but the best thing was they loved to eat scotch broom and poison oak, which otherwise would have been a PITA to keep cleared. The fire marshal said our property was one of the best maintained in terms of fire protection that he’d seen.

That Goat has a Beard like my Grandma🤣

I farm meat goats down in Australia. Most likely Elsa was hand raised/bottle fed. They imprint on and bond with humans. They will follow you around like a dog. They do get separation anxiety. Fun Fact: if you live in USA and have bought goat meat, unless it had " farmed in the USA" stamped on it, you most likely ate Australian Goat ! Australia is the world's largest exporter of goat meat !

That why this one is the GOAT! THE GOAT😂

Sheep are better at grazing forbs and grass. Goats prefer browse (trees and shrubs). If you are interested in milk, there are milk sheep breeds, and most people prefer sheep's milk to goat's milk. Some sheep are good for fiber, but some just shed, if that is a concern (or point of curiosity). Goats do tend to run in herds, and if you're a prey animal and alone then you must be wary of predators, hence her stopping eating when you left.

Goats will almost always go for shrubs rather than grass and forbs. They are primarily browsers, though they do fine on grass if that’s all that’s available. If you’re going to have goats, you will need to give a lot of thought to protecting your trees and shrubs.

Amazing video.

This one was great too Actively in support of bringing back Elsa with some friends :)

Goats are great with kids too, at least from my experience! My nephews were scared of chickens their whole childhood, but grew up amazingly well with their goats and dogs. It's a good "farm to pet" ratio! Loved the video, looking forward to the next ones.

Wish you luck with your next goat adventures - PS your Elsa drinking buddy is my doppelganger
