VIDEO INTRODUCTION: At the Global Fintech Festival 2020, Mr Nandan Nilekani launched a revolutionary concept that could change the financial landscape of MSMEs in India and now in 2023, it is coming alive in execution!!
and the best part is that this concept is built upon the foundation of revolutionary products, like Aadhar, UPI, the GST system, and most importantly, the robust banking system of India!!
This platform that we are talking about is called the Open Credit enables network or OCEN!! and this will solve the most critical problem for the MSMEs of India which is the CREDIT GAP problem!!
and if you think its no big deal at all, take a look at this graph, in the past 10 years, the MSME sector of India has contributed to 30% of our GDP, in the past 3 years more than 40% of our exports came from MSMEs and most importantly, this segment of India alone employs over 100 Million people in the country!!! and yet when covid happened, most of the companies could not get loan because of which they could pay their rent, they could not pay their employees and eventually, they had to take loans from Money lenders at 18–30% interest!!!
because of this even today, many MSMEs in India are still struggling to recover their profits!!! and this points towards a very very critical problem in the economy of India!

Think School is a Digital School that we all deserved, but never had

  • OCEN was very much needed for our Indian economy. As a practicing CA I see lot of MSME enterprises struggling with cashflow problem. Even though they have potential to grow, their ambition and growth is hampered due to lack of credit facilities available from banks. This is a great move the Government of India.
  • @shivamnawale
I'm a student turned msme owner and i relate 100% to what you said in this video, thanks for bringing out this topic
  • @surajsahoo4748
You have no idea how much you are influencing the current and future generations. Please don't let this magic die. It might be just a video for you but it means a lot for people who need such information to run their livelihoods ❤
  • @mihirpingle5067
I think Germany is a great examaple of medium and small scale successful businesses. We have a lot to learn from them.
  • @mkgrpd
The best video of 2023 ... so happy and smiling while listening to you. Modi Ji is doing wonders for India, this is a real output of Digital India 🇮🇳
  • I feel so proud to see where India is heading............truly it's India's Century :elbowcough:no stopping now!
  • @rahulraj_yt
Too good, Government is doing many great things for growth of business. As someone who wishes to start his something own(few years later😅) it is beautiful to see I can get loan within minutes, without bribing anyone.
  • @badalkr360
After upi, we became fastest in money transactions. After OCEN, we can become fastest in loan transactions. This can boost our economy many folds.. Keep uploading such videos.. Love u 3000..
  • @spikeguard
Congress never worried about MSME. The former FM of India, P Chidambaram, actually said he doesn't see how a 50,000 Rs loan can help anyone. And how UPI will help people. He was only interested in enrichment of Congress party. Kudos to Modi govt for thinking and executing such revolutionary ideas for Indians and for villagers, farmers and small business owners.
  • As a Bank employee myself... Handling a portfolio of 75Crs. I have realised this... Ocen is very revolutionary step. But my bank is too conservative in terms of risk!
  • @1969viny
One more thing. We entrepreneurs also have to improve our reputation. As per bank , the default in msme loan is 80%. And the default is intentional by person. He takes loan, shut the shop. Start new co and again take loan and the process goes on. Ethics has to be improved
  • @btbuilder0213
Imagine how much we would progress if these MSMEs turn out to be huge companies,.if possible MNCs.
  • I thank you in advance for making video on OCEN topic sir. I want to suggest another topic to make a video which the frontline Economic media houses ignored. The topic is: Growing aviation market and Industry of India. It's impact on Indian Economy, Tourism and finally Soft Power of India. Most of the big airlines have either ordered or in advanced stages of ordering planes in massive number like Air India placing order for 470 Aircrafts with an option of another 370, IndiGo has placed order for 500 Aircrafts in batches during recent times like the one for 300 aircrafts placed with Airbus in 2019, Jet Airways new management is planning to acquire 200 Aircrafts, new player Akasa Air is planning to place order consisting over 100 Aircrafts this year. More recently IndiGo placed order for another 500 Aircrafts which takes the total number of ordered aircraft by IndiGo from Airbus crosses 1000. So total number of aircrafts orders from Indian aviation companies is likely to cross over 3000 in near future. So if incentives offered such huge order numbers may even attract commercial aircraft OEMs like Boeing, Airbus to set up assembly and manufacturing line here in India. It can also serve orders from Middle East, ASEAN and Africa as well. Already Boeing sources aircraft components worth 1 Billion USD annually from India. There was news of collaboration between Boeing and GMR to setup a plane conversion workshop in Hyderabad. And India is also well placed geographically at the center of Asia, Africa, ASEAN and Oceania to setup maintenance hub for all commerical aircraft. So is the potential of India being a Air Transshipment hub of entire world. Because India itself is growing economically and is surrounded by growing regions like ASEAN, Africa, Central Asia etc. Also cover current state of aircraft manufacturing Ecosystem in India covering: - Tata manufacturing military cargo planes for IAF like Airbus C-295 in India. - HAL made military jets like LCA Tejas, Trainers like HTT-40 and assembly of Su-30. - NAL Saras and under development RTA(Regional Transport Aircraft) manufacturing by HAL. - Reliance Aerospace manufacturing front fuselage of Dassault Falcon VIP jet. - Tata Advanced Systems manufacturing Apache Helicopters fuselage and F-16 wings etc In the video cover all macroeconomic and business aspects like: 1) Air Passengers number growth. 2) Increase in number of Airports. 3) Growth strategies of aviation companies 4) Business strategies of the aviation companies to benefit from this massive growth potential. 5) How to promote domestic manufacturing of these new Aircrafts both by Foreign OEM Companies like Airbus, Boeing, Embraer etc by partnering with Indian Aviation companies like Tata ASL, Mahindra Aerospace etc. 6) Maintenance and conversion hub ecosystem. 7) Present state of aircraft manufacturing in India whose examples I mentioned above. 8) Addressing potential of Aircraft exports from Indian manufacturing facilities to Aviation Companies in countries across the region like Central Asia, Middle East, ASEAN, Africa and Oceania by analysing data of air passenger growth in those countries. 9) Macroeconomic and socio-economic benefits of having an aircraft manufacturing, conversion and maintenance hub. 10) Air transportation potential in building multimodal transportation ecosystem. Recently Amazon brought it's dedicated Air Cargo service to Hyderabad by seeing the fast growing e-commerce segment of India. 11) Finally the stocks to watch out for in this growing aviation sector of India. If this makes video/article lengthy then make it in three parts: 1) First part covering growth potential and business strategies of the aviation companies along with stocks to watch out for. 2) Second part regarding how government should plan to leverage such big order number by giving out incentives to attract domestic manufacturing and R&D centers of these aircraft companies and also promote maintanence and conversion hubs in India. Also mention stocks to watch out for which manufacture spares and components like fuselage, onboard computers etc. 3) Third part covering massive employment potential of creating Commercial Aircraft Manufacturing, Conversion and Maintenance hubs. Along with this also cover Air Cargo and multi modal transport potential in growing e-commerce market and number of airports in tier-2 and tier-3 cities of India. Lastly mention how it will boost tourism in India. Please plan this video if possible. It has potential become one of the most viewed video of Think School. Who knows this may even reach till policymakers and ministers as well inorder to make India an aircraft manufacturing hub.

Hi from Canada. This was a great video. I've been trying to establish a business in India for the last 4 years with my partner in India. Covid killed our project, had to start all over on 2021. The legality of business is so hard to understand there. Ive been doing business in Canada for over 22 years. Both countries have completely different concepts. But these digital efforts will take India to the next level. Currently Business loans are very hard to get, unless its a scured loan against your hard assets. I always find your videos to be very informative. Good luck to you, and to my fellow Indian people. I believe India will surpass all G7 economies very soon, but it will take time for the averge person to be wealthy. Good luck to all.
  • @GregoryGarvin
MSMEs are the backbone of any economy. The issue is that most MSMEs refuse to make deposits in bank to show revolving income. It is on the MSME as the Loan Officers job is to evaluate the risk of payback. You no longer give documents but access to your business bank account for verification. MSMEs just trying to keep cash to avoid tax works against them as they try to grow.
