I'm new to the world of turtles and I have learned SO much from your videos. Thank you! Our adult daughter became very ill and we became the proud new parents of her turtle "babies". A red eared slider and another I'm not quite sure of... maybe a Western Painted? I know that it's a native species to our state of Texas and that it's a couple inches smaller than the slider. They have been together since they were both small and get along great. We are needing to get a new home for them and love the set-up you have for your "kids". Keep the videos coming...

Hey buddy, thx for the blueprints and information on this turtle condo. I've made my own version of yours. You need to get some shared pictures / videos of people who followed your specs to make a condo and continue the tips and tricks of the turtle condo DIY.

I’m getting a rescue turtle soon and this video is really helpful on setting up his tank
  • The setup is good but I think the tank is still too small for those 2 large turtles. You should upgrade to a 125gal.

Id pay you to make and ship to me an above basking platform like you have for a 75 gallon tank

Thanks for sharing this! It is a great setup! I have a 75 gallon as well with the same Cascade filter and I also added media. I am very happy with it.

Great video!! Just came across your videos looking for a basking area. Great project videos on that. Im looking to build one too and just looking for ideas and yours was great! Was thinking about using the large open area for an extended basking for the turtle. By adding another small shelf (like the ones used to hold the screen and clear covers on top) for the bottom to rest on and stop it from going into the tank, maybe cut another hole for just a exit no ramp and adding hinges for it to be opened and a hook and ring for it to be held up if id rather have it be like the original design. adding the extra platform for the turtle to have extra space to roam around and just to make use of it. Ive just noticed that my tank is about 2 lengths of yours if not a little over, The heights about 6 inches more. Simply just trying to make the most use of the space.. so far thats what im looking to build unless you could give some ideas!

Good job! One thing I have read, however, is that the air pump should be above the tank in case of backflow. I installed a shelf above my tank for just that purpose.

Tank looks awesome! Very cool topper. I was wondering why you dont have a heater for water temp in the setup. Maybe I didnt see it. If you dont have one, then I'm wondering why not.
