I wonder how many people realize that Spectacle Rock in Ocarina of Time is effectively the roof of the Fire Temple?
  • @phillyphil201
Can twilight princess and wind waker come on switch already.
  • @RedOcelot4334
The Keaton mask isn't a Pikachu reference. It's a Kitsune.
  • @AuraSilverHero
That thing about the Skull Mask and the bats in Ocarina of Time? Turns out the crows won't attack you either.
  • @kaitoudark1
So the Keaton mask is likely not based on Pikachu at all. I have found nothing to confirm this from the developers. Rather, it's based on a kitsune. Kitsune are fox spirits in Japanese mythology who possess cunning and wisdom. They're also known as tricksters. This is reinforced in Majora's Mask, because you find the actual spirit the mask was made to resemble. Another reference for the mask is hidden in plain sight in Majora's Mask. The Keaton mask may be part of a reference to the Star Fox franchise (which has ties to the 3D games as an Arwing can be found in the code for Ocarina of Time). The Keaton mask represents Fox The Bremen mask represents Falco The Bunny Hood represents Peppy Don Gero's mask represents Slippy And lastly, the Mask of Scents represents Pigma.
  • Damn who pulled off those crazy moves in the Hidden Village for Twilight Princess?
  • @chompythebeast
The gerudo guards changing outfits with Link is most likely the game pulling the color of both from the same bit of code. It is interesting that nobody noticed it or cared enough to change it, even in subsequent revisions, but it's likely it was one of those bugs that "fixing" would have caused more unintended consequences than it was worth

Excused me WHAT!!!!! Secret supply room in OOT. I have beaten OOT several times and I never once knew about this

The Twilight Princess palace extra key is something I found on my first playthrough. You only need one key in the palace, to get inside. However, there are two keys outside. Once you get the first the player would usually burst in and climb only to learn there's a locked door next to the final boss door. The map reveals lots of chests behind it, but unless you went to the bottom again and knew the OTHER side also had a small key you'd likely not know how to get in.
  • @ShockingAlberto
You just so casually throw in “a reference to Pikachu” without any backing and with so much confidence I can kinda get how you never questioned it since being a kid. But for future videos, I don’t think doing a little research on these asides is a bad idea.

I wonder if anyone realized that Baito, the part timer, also made an appearance in Majora's Mask as the part-timer working at night at the Trading Post in West Clock Town, while the Curiosity Shop's manager is at his other store. You can also find the part-timer climbing a tree near the Astral Observatory in Termina Field during the day, trying to make more rupees. He and his Wind Waker counterpart have the same face and hair/beard style
  • Yo one that I like is that in Ocarina of Time if you hold out a deku stick near a butterfly, if the butterfly lands on it it turns into a fairy. But I remember struggling in the Igos Du Ikana boss fight, and I never realized you could just make his minions march around.
  • @browncoatkevin
I like the "unorthodox item usage pays off" angle programmed into several boss battles. The Forest Water is a prime example, following the Bug-Catching Net deflecting Agahnim's spells (LttP) and bottles deflecting Ganondorf's spells (OoT). There's also the bit in OoT's Spirit Temple where a statue of a Gerudo can be targeted with the Hookshot only on her nipples. And similarly to the guards' clothes in OoT, Zelda's dress in the first game changed color with Link's tunic (clearly saving memory by mapping them to the same palette).
  • @GamingKingdom91
Majoras mask was supposed to be personalized to each player...but that idea was scrapped..only thing left over are the stars going off of what your file name is...
  • @Leo-pd4fc
It's really hard to believe this, but happy 1 year Anniiversary 1 of the Best Zelda game and Nintendo Switch game ever made The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom! ❤🎉😮😊
  • @gregc2236
Not really an Easter egg, but shooting an arrow at the same time as using a bomb in Link's Awakening to create missiles was an awesome thing to discover.
  • @CappyLarou
So the first guy had to hack the game? Then it shouldn't count. If the average person can't reaching it by playing the game then it shouldn't matter and shouldn't be on this list.
  • @HelpTheWretched
If anyone remembers the Nintendo Badge Arcade on 3DS, the host bunny was also named Baito for the same reason. And the Japanese word "Arubaito" is a loanword from German, which I believe is "Arbeit". That's especially interesting since the The Wind Waker's Japanese title ("Takt of Wind") also has a German loanword, with "Taktstock" being the word for a conducting baton.
