When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? (stylized in all caps) is the debut studio album by American singer and songwriter Billie Eilish. It was released on March 29, 2019, by Darkroom and Interscope Records in the US and Polydor Records in the UK. Eilish, aged 17 at the time of release, largely wrote the album with her brother Finneas O'Connell, who produced it at his small bedroom studio in Highland Park, Los Angeles. A Target exclusive green glow in the dark vinyl was released as well.

If there’s such a thing as someone truly being “born to do something” …Billie and finneas were 10000% born to make music. And it’s such a blessing that they had the privilege and support from their parents to make their dreams come true unlike so many people who have the chops but just never get the chance

This is one of the most impressive debut albums I've ever heard.

You guys HAVE to do "Happier Than Ever" now!!! The progression is INSANE and levels up everything you love about this album to new extents

I love how much you include Finneas when discussing Billie's music because he's such an integral part of it all, and he is severely underrated and not recognised nearly enough

“listen before i go” is so hauntingly beautiful. its hard to choose a favorite track from the album, but this one probably hits me the hardest

Honestly one of the best pop albums of the decade in my opinion. It's so unique in its themes and sounds, the production is tasteful, weird and catchy and it's a concept that is so well executed. The album is dark, sad, quirky, funny or just straight up terrifying at some parts. It's truly a body a work and the fact that this is billie's DEBUT album is so impressive

This album is such a time stamp in history. I will always remember it.

"I love you" is one of the most powerful Billie's songs, and it is definitely my fav song of all her discography. Every time I listen to it, gives me shivers and feels like the first time I listened to it. The best song of this album

My favorite thing about "All the Good Girls Go to Hell" is that she says "I cannot do this SNOWFLAKE" because she was crocheting a snowflake while singing and she forgot how to do it, so in the middle of a take, she said that lol. Also, she's a really huge Office fan. Theres a video of Riann Wilson giving her Office trivia questions somewhere on Youtube lol.
  • Its honestly wild that so many people seem to think Finneas is holding Billie back as an artist, if anything his production style is one of the most interesting parts of her sound. Its so minimal and never competes too much with her voice, he seems really in tune with her progression and how she's maturing musically, I love what they did with her second album in particular. Great to see you both liked it, one of the best pop albums of the 2010s imo.

“listen before i go, i love you, goodbye” what an insanely brilliant way to close the album

such an insane debut album. my love for her is eternal.

I liked it fine at the time but in hindsight this album is insanely underrated. For how popular she was in 2019 it's honestly surprising how quickly people seemingly moved on from this album.

“all the good girls go to hell” is such a banger. My favorite Billie song tbh.

your dad probably recognises “when we all fall asleep where do we go” because the melody is similar to the melody of ‘people are strange” by the doors (my own father pointed this out to me whilst listening to it in the car)
  • Listening to this album while having depression definitely hits on a whole new level. Even with 5 Grammys, still feels underrated. You should go see her live when you have the chance! The best concert I've ever been in.
  • @kanekiken2675
this was the first record I fully listened all the way through and it changed everything for me
  • Billie added some noises she recorded when she was at the dentist to make some of the noises in “you should see me in a crown” that your dad said gave him chills! she said she thought the noise was perfectly creepy for the track
