As someone who was old enough to have grown up with the PSone when it was new, and largely had my gaming tastes defined by games like Final Fantasy VII, Tactics, Symphony of the Night and Musashi, it warms my heart that even decades after the system's launch, it can keep bringing joy to new fans.

You were born in 2004? Man, I feel old… lol. I was born 1995. I had an older brother born 1986 and an older sister born 1988. Right away I saw a PlayStation not really knowing about its background or release. We just played Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Jersey Devil, Gran Turismo, Tomb Raider, Tony Hawk, Gex, Ape Escape, MGS, Medival, FF7… thats what I remember from my childhood or seeing back then. I remember when FF7 was a big deal and my brother was leaving his PS1 on since he didn’t have a memory card.

If you liked Klonoa check out Tomba 1 and 2, they play similarly! I liked the puzzles so much in Tomba, but the missables can be frustrating.

Nice vid, I always like hearing about personal experiences with older consoles and games rather than just a straight essay on them (unless it is 3 hours long)

My first game consoles as a child in the early 2000s were an original GBA and a PS1. It was one of the slim model PSone consoles.

8:17 Legends 1&2 are my favorite PS1 games ever. Capcom was dropping genre defining games and gems as if they were sliced bread. Easily the best third party of that generation imo. Great video!

PlayStation and Dreamcast are also my favorite consoles. If you like them, you’d likely enjoy the Saturn.

I grew up on flash games and pc games in the 2010s
  • There was a Canadian YouTuber known for uploading video game essays and retrospectives with a focus on Nintendo content, particularly from 2015 to 2018. This YouTuber's videos featured a sarcastic and comedic tone in their narrations, and they often included unnecessary rants in those videos. One of their videos was a 2018 video about "Flipnote Studio 3D" and how it failed due to Nintendo's decision to make it a Club Nintendo exclusive. While the YouTuber's name was similar to "TheRandomGuyOnTheInternet," the exact name remains unclear. To uncover any information about this lost-media search. Please share anything about Youtuber in your recollections or any details you may have on the YouTuber. Would you know who I am talking about?
