The Celtics is who every team aspires to be in the regular season, not the playoffs.

Agreed, the teams that play physical are gonna be the toughest challenges, but i'm really not scared of anyone in the east
  • Miami is a threat to any team. They have earned that reputation Let's hope they don't fizzle out this year. We are much much deeper than last year that's for sure However that is the very thing that might hurt us also. Who knows how these things go. Lots of ifs ifs ifs if was a splif

Brown once said: "My mom taught me never play with my food....." So hopefully Celtics remember this & be 100% business like & do what they're supposed to do. Any injury will change up a lot of things. (eg. LY they played more games leading to Brogdon getting injured & can't shoot in last series) 1. Knicks - agreed with your analysis. They might give Celtics the most trouble defensively due to their roster & Thibs. That's why I thought, the lackadaiscal game Celtics just had, partially was due to not wanting to let them get used to Celtics' pet plays & plays they haven't shown yet in reg. season. 2. Heat - 100% agree to beat them convincingly, & get past their slap & grab up high zone defensive schemes, & Adebayo's illegal nudges / hold in high screens. This will be a "spill-blood" series where refs will continue to let Adebayo go while Butler gets his 13 FTs. If they get prepped, like you said, & beat them in 6 games, they will be more prepared to go thru the East. 3. Bucks - Let Giannis shoot mid-long range & take away his drive while attack Lillard every single time to wear him out. They do hv excellent role players so must contain them & not let them get rythm (Portis, Lopez, Middleton) Cavs - I'm glad you pointed out they had conflicts in both the bigs & backcourt as I thought it appeared to be (I didn't hv time to dig the numbers). Both Mitchell & Garland are not top defensive players Hawks - if Young plays, their D will be worse Pacers - TJ has been my favorite player when he was with the Bucks & Sixers. Pritchard's game is a bit reminiscent of TJ's game.

As a celtics fan from Europe, I'm often baffled by the hate this team gets in America. Since the teams are on the other side of the ocean, we are a bit let passionate and hostile about the NBA here. But in the US, everyone seems to label the celtics as the ultimate chockers, which I find a bit unfair... People act as if they are in the same situation as in the past few years, but I don't remember them being so clearly the best team in the east ! Where does all this hate comes from ? Even from an outside perspective, the team is quite likable in my opinion...
  • Yeah I want the Celtics too. Careful what you wish for. Heat relish that. Heat actually had a better record this year than last year and their bench is deeper. They have a better winning road record than their winning home record. That neutralizes any disadvantage not having home court. Annoying untimely injuries to EVERY starter kept them from higher seeds. Duncan Robinson’s back will be well rested and he still remembers nearly getting his shooting arm ripped off. All that said the Celtics are clearly better than last year too. I think the key is Tatum. If he elevates his game like Jimmy Butler does in the post season….then it will be Celtics v Nuggets again in the Finals. If he gets shut down in key moments by dominant defenders and schemes (I’m looking at you Coach Spo), then it’s better luck next year Boston.
  • i love your take on Miami. Looks like the Bucks will draw either them or Philly in the first round...could be some upset buzz if Giannis misses a couple games of that series.
  • I would say this about a young team you don’t overlook a young inexperienced team
