Short shift it and enjoy the torque of that big 2 stroke!!

My first adult dirt bike was a 1986 KX500. To this day still haven’t found anything that gives you that feeling. Now riding a 2024 KX450, it’s close without the soul. Nothing is as fun as a big bore 2 stroke.

I will never forget my first ride on my 1974 Elsinore CR125 and I said to myself how can anything be this fast.
  • @bdcollar
We all made those fun happy noises our first time on a 500 2stroke😂

Your excitement is well dessert. I rode a friends yz 490 back in 1986ish. I'm 5.6 weigh 115 pounds. My KX 125 felt slow forever after. Very nice 500. Love 2 stroke. 👍

You did Good....Minute 2 you were Twisting It.. Brings Back Memories.. Add a Galfer OS front rotor with Stainles brake line....One Finger Brake - You can go as fast as you can Stop

I figured the guy with great beard had a grin on his face for a reason. Nice vid, looked fun, and scary, which makes it extra-fun.
  • @cr500mike
You did good for your first 500 ride.
  • Awesome. It gives me the feeling of riding the CR500 and how fast it is. Including catching up to the blue bike and almost crashing into it at 6:45 🙂

man i was scared for yeah but you got the hang of it.....i need a beer now
  • Shift the thing, and lay it into the turns ! They turn amazing and you don't rev them , you shift up when they wind up. 0-60 mph like 2 seconds ! 😅
  • everyone has the same reaction to the cr500 it vibrates a lot that's how you know it's powerful you barely hit the gas and it takes off like a rocketship
  • @jd-jw8hm
That CR would smoke those 450s..with the right pilot aboard.. Used to have a big bore RM.. NOTHING was mre fun and terrifying..than letting it rip..😄😳

Keep in mind those years, they were instant full power . They were tamed quite a bit as the years progressed love my 96 250 , but the2000 cr 250 is a rocket an my favorite
