MindCap asked me if I wanted to showcase LIMBO on the channel, and I mean, it's not like this really needs any help getting exposure, but it's still such a good level that I couldn't really reject. A lot of people are asking me to showcase their levels recently. It seems like it's because they want to read my thoughts, which I think is nice. I'm glad people like reading these descriptions. Obviously, this is way beyond my skill level, so it's a bit funny that the showcase uses my icons. Typically, I try to avoid that so that nobody misunderstands and think I actually beat the level being shown, but hopefully this is hard enough that it's obviously not. I didn't want to ask them to rerecord another showcase without my icons; this seems like a big pain to record for a showcase, even with most hacks. Special thanks to Aerma for that by the way.

The level starts off with a very cool part featuring visuals by Juhou and gameplay by Findexi. It immediately sets the tone with what's to come, both visually and in terms of gameplay. What's seen in this part can be applied to the majority of the level. Style-wise, it's rooted in design but featuring some small effects, and the colors are darker shades of purple, blue, and green. The gameplay is, as everyone should know, memory, but it's far more unique memory than most levels I've seen, if not just the most unique period. More on that later. Mentioning the creators of the first part earlier on was on purpose; there's a bunch of older creators in this, and I think it works extremely well for the choice of style and gameplay this went with. Memory gameplay was far more popular back when these creators were actively creating, so who's better than them to build in a memory gameplay? Of course, there are a bunch of new creators mixed in too, and they all did a good job. MindCap did a great job selecting the team for this, which is clear in how good the level turned out overall.

What I said about the colors stays consistent for the majority of the level. It's mostly purple and blue, which are my personal favorite colors, and I think they're mixed very well. There are a few parts that stand out a bit in terms of style, such as Jeyzor's at 1:00. The same color scheme is used, though, and the gameplay remains memory, which keeps it connected enough to the rest to me. It's impossible to get this amount of creators and have them all create in the exact same style, and it would also just be very boring. Aside from keeping styles consistent, another difficulty of making megacollabs is keeping the quality itself consistent, which is probably of more importance. I'd say this does a good job at that, at least visually. There are definitely a few parts that are a bit boring and could have used some more effects or just better designs, but that's to be expected in a megacollab. While I do appreciate the nostalgia of some of the more oldschool design parts, these are the ones I like less personally. The more modern parts with effects added, such as flash and Goose are my personal favorites, but that may just be me. Nevertheless, the level of consistency here is still far above what you see in most megacollabs.

Something I can't comment on is the consistency of the gameplay or rather just the gameplay in general. I suspect few people will be able to as this will end up very high on the Demonlist. From what I can see of recent additions to the top of the list, this outclasses them in visual quality at least, and it's also just cool to see a memory level on there. I'm sure there have been many playtesters involved, making this as good as possible for this final version. Without playing it and considering the enjoyability, it should at least be clear and obvious to everyone that this level's gameplay is very unique. There are some incredibly cool ideas in this, and I have to applaud the creators for executing them this well. It's especially awesome how good the visuals work with the gameplay in the parts that have each made by separate people. For an example of unique gameplay, the best one is definitely the last part, starting at around 2:50. This is also where it starts diverging from the aforementioned color scheme, becoming more red and then orange, which I find fitting for the big climax of the level. How the part works speaks for itself. Unfortunately, I've run out of characters, so I'll just say this: Epic.

Thank you for the review! This project has certainly been in the works for almost 2 years and we're all glad to have everyone play it now! and for those asking, the wonderful animated endscreen that was visible in the Full Showcase on my channel is made by DienID, and but it was unfortunately discontinued due to it containing a high amount of groups. Maybe I'll update the level in 2.2 to have it :D

This level is a breath of fresh air in an age when basically every extreme is more of the same.

One of the best levels I've ever seen. I really hope people look at this level and realize that good top 10s are what we need, and it'll inspire people to make better amazing creations. Props to the host for not buffing it also, because it would've ruined the whole experience, something that Acheron did only to get the prestigious top 1 spot. We need more levels like LIMBO.

This is going down in gd history. I don't think there was a level that was able to create so much hype over such a long time before its release like LIMBO in years. I think Mindcap just did a fantastic job at hosting this massive project and succesfully hyping it up like that. A great example for this is the announcement video of its verification which was supposed to be the showcase of another level but took an amazing plot twist revealing that LIMBO was verified. Everything in this ambitious project is extremely well executed and looks amazing. This is not just a great extreme demon megacollab but also a top 10 one that stands out so much from others to me by being so unique. Great job to every single person involved in this, y'all really created a truly legendary level!
  • Honestly, I thought BGram completely forgot about this level. But, I am glad that we finally get a change in the demonlist. A nice break from those top 1 red demons. Edit: I didn’t say Limbo was top 1, I said I was tired of all top 1s being red and hell-themed

With memory levels gaining a lot of traction lately, this came out at a perfect time. Also congrats to bgram and whole team for finishing whole thing, I had a blast working on this. :)
  • @Cust0mCraft
I just noticed at 3:00 all the different parts of the level are flashing in the background, that is so cool!

Out of any list demon which has come out in the past year, this has been the one I've had the most hype about. There have been way to many top 10s-20s, but this outclasses any other level in that difficulty range. Overall I am extremely sure this will be one of the most iconic list demons, if not even the most iconic, which is deserved for such a huge project as this one. Also, as a little extra, can I comment on how absolutely amazing KWMS' part (at 1:47) is? The insane execution of the parallax, combined with the mind-blowing layering and design and how it uses objects following player's movement to create such an unique pacing makes it potentially the best megacollab part on a verified level I've seen. Weird you haven't mentioned it in your description to be honest.
  • I really hope this gets epic, Mindcap did a lot of work to finish this, organizing a collab of this size isnt easy, congrats for him and for every creator who works on this masterpiece 👏
  • @Aerma
Thanks for letting me make this for you! Pretty weird seeing my video on viprin's youtube channel xD
  • @AutoNickGD
The level I have been hyped for the most since a long time. Amazing to see it verified. :)
  • @Wqtercolorsss
At 3:00, you can see the parts from the level in the background, this detail is reminding you of what you went through, and that shows all you went through to go here, and that you shouldn’t screw up. The music melody is also telling you, “dont screw up. Its almost over. You can do it.” And when the music ends, it ends like a breath of fresh air after suffering a struggle. And when you pick the right key and win, it feels like you just accomplished the hardest thing in the world, and that you deserved every single bit of glory in it. I never knew a geometry dash level could cause feelings other than “HOLY SHIT I DID IT” and “WHY THE FUCK IS THIS IMPOSSIBLE!?”. We need more levels like limbo.
  • It's so cool seeing how amazing projects like this come together. I never knew you spent so much time writing your thoughts in the description, I love your insights of all the creators, and the value that they add to levels, and your appreciation for the game.

This level is absoluty stunning, it’s nice to see something so incredibly difficult yet so incredibly different. I’m so tired of most difficult levels just being knock offs of cataclysm. This is a really nice breath of fresh air! :)
