  • It is understandable that Riolu would be upset about his record being bopped. It took him twice as long to drive it.
  • Riolu considering backwards driving a step too far has to be the funniest thing ever
  • @acid1910
I cannot get over the fact, out of all players, Riolu said that this was against the moral of Trackmania, he posted all of it while being well aware that he was cheating. Incredible.
  • @DeSinc
This just goes to show that given enough time, accelerated backhopping eventually shows up in every game, even the car ones
  • @zapadap1328
"Despite the call to action by the fairest competitor out there..." OUCH, You hit him so hard that I felt it
  • Nadeo: "Nooo, you can't go faster while driving backwards." Also Nadeo: "Haha car on nose goes brrrrr."
  • @figloalds
The "Sometimes you have to take 1 step backwards" joke was so cheesy and so good at the same time
  • Something about Riolu at 11:23 talking about "fairness in competition" cause people are beating his hacked WR by driving backwards is comical
  • @trolliixz9595
‘Call to action by the fairest competitor out there’ Gotta love wirtual
  • Very well done. :) So much of the information put into such a relatively short video. There are only minor things that I would have added or that maybe come a bit unclear. For example: - It sounds as if you could use the backwards trick on many maps, but in fact the maps need to have certain criterias so that backwards can be faster. In Canyon it was difficult to find any map and back then as well as nowadays: there is no Canyon campaign map where the record drives backwards. The first maps where I got a record were multilap maps, so that I don't have the time loss at the start. -Starting with kb only makes sense when you drive forwards and turn around in a start jump. You can’t wiggle backwards with normal keyboard. But still: using multiple devices with different dxtweak settings would be the solution. The wiggles are most powerful the more you steer, just right before sliding out. If you use extreme settings of dxtweak just for the high velocity in the end, you will have bad wiggles as you don’t steer enough. Only with a joystick or steering wheel it could work to only use one device for the best possible outcome due to its precision. Otherwise you would need to have multiple devices, each one with different max steering for the different speeds.. but then the question is: is that cheating then? - In 2017 we already knew that backwards driving is still faster, but without knowing about the wiggling it took just very long until the car got fast enough. We did that on short circle maps on an online server. Also on Valley A05: without wiggling it needs 10 Laps, but then you will be faster than forwards (as you need to steer in the 2 corners each lap anyway). So you could beat Dedi records on Multilap maps online in TimeAttack. But for normal start to finish the acceleration to these speeds took too long.
  • This man literally brought reverse bhopping from after-hl2-patch era source engines into trackmania. What a legend.
  • @Taikamuna
I'm glad that Riolu cares about what is fair
  • @laykcer2251
Not weird Riolu thought that was really fast, considering his normal speed was -200%! :)
  • Seeing a message from Riolu saying that backwards driving is a step too far is hilarious to me in light of what he has done. With that being said this is crazy fast considering it's in reverse, and for it to still be a thing undiscovered 6 years after the patch is crazy too. I don't play TM at all but I love learning about it through your Videos Wirtual so please keep it up <3
  • @nintySW
The backwards wiggle trick seems very similar to accelerated back hopping in modern versions of half life 2
  • @gui1521
Props to Marius for discovering and mastering this trick. Considering how dedicated he is to all TM games, he deserves a video focused on him!
  • @Garfeeld827
I think that driving backwards in racing games is really cool, it’s like cranking up the difficulty in exchange for speed
  • @Maskiii_
Thank you riolu for standing up for the community !
