Considering this was during the time period that Jay was cheating the lyrics are just so much deeper. She’s like basically telling her (at the time) only child that they’re basically the only thing that will be forever and begging to keep their bond. It’s absolutely beautiful.

I didn't particularly care about this song and video when it came out in 2013. I was 19 at the time. I'm turning 29 next year and it just hits different. I can't listen to it or watch it without tearing up for some reason. And I keep thinking how sweet it was for Beyoncé to have done this for her daughter, and how much more it's going to mean when Blue gets older or when her mother passes. It's such a beautiful gift.
