  • Everlast was the frontman for house of pain! Jump around was their biggest hit!

My favorite thing about the years ive been following these two is how Amber wears her heart on her sleeve. ❤ 🎸

I've seen a rich man beg I've seen a good man sin I've seen a tough man cry I've seen a loser win And a sad man grin I heard an honest man lie (uh) I've seen the good side of bad And the downside of up And everything between I licked the silver spoon Drank from the golden cup and smoked the finest green Stroked the fattest dimes at least a couple of times Before I broke their heart You know where it ends, yo, it usually depends on where you start

Everlast has been around since the late 80's. He used to roll with Ice T's Ryhme Syndicate befor he was in the group House of Pain, yall should peep one of his first songs Everlast - The Rhythm
  • @Pcytripper
A good friend once told me something like, "I know exactly how heavy everyone's burden is... it's every last ounce that they can carry, just like mine." I try to keep that in mind when I get irritated by something.
  • I love this song. Thank you for this reaction. Thank you, Miss Amber, for your kind words.

empathy! empathy!! a great song about empathy! as a culture, America has never needed empathy more than it does right now. everyone needs to listen and take a moment. this is a great tune. everlast put it all right out there in this song back in the day. again-we need this message right now-today-and always.

So many times I have sat at a bar with this song playing in the background, a pint of Guinness in front me, discussing the complexities of life with a philosophical bartender.
  • @SanKings_Patti
Everlast was also the lead vocals for the rap group House of Pain from the 90's
  • @DannyBedo
One of my absolute adolescent anthems. Still know every word. 🤘🏾

Sympathy and empathy both refer to a caring response to the emotional state of another person, but a distinction between them is typically made: while sympathy is a feeling of sincere concern for someone who is experiencing something difficult or painful (which I believe Amber was describing as something that everyone be capable of doing), 'EMPATHY' involves actively sharing in the emotional experience of the other person, often and in it most sincere form, when having experienced something akin to, very similar as or exactly like what another has experienced. I think most people are capable of sympathy (pity and sorrow for someone else's misfortune) but empathy is not automatic nor can it be expected. Some people are cruel. Some are ignorant. Some are willfully blind to suffering beyond what they've experienced. Others simply have no baseline to understand what is means to be dirt poor, backed into a corner with no way out, filled with loss, etc... and are therefore incapable of empathy. Like the lyricist sang; you can only know if you walk in someone else's shoes.
  • All right my babies... Now this track cuts deep on so many levels.... Infinite situations for someone to be in. This was the very first time I've seen the video. We've all walked our own "what it's like" 🔥😊👍🏻
  • @MaggieValera
This is a favorite of mine, it's such a powerful song.
  • Everlast did a song with Carlos Santana in the late 90s called "Leave Your Lights On" that you should definitely check out
  • @paul.kristoff
As others have mentioned, Everlast aka Erik Francis Schrody, is also the rapper from House Of Pain, which you'll know from "Jump Around". He also did a great song with Santana, called ""Put Your Lights On" that's worth checking out. A 90s artist with a similar name but non-related that you should check out is alt-rockers Everclear. Start with their songs, "Santa Monica" and "I Will Buy You A New Life" and work through their catalogue from there.
  • @geetarbube
Amber has such a beautiful heart ❤️
  • Now that you've done Everlast, you NEED to do Everclear. Start with "Father Of Mine"
  • I love this video! All the people he's been singing about looking in on a picture of perfection and not comprehending it like it's some bizarre, alien thing. Meanwhile, I'm there standing beside them wondering the same thing.
