I think the truth of the matter is that in America we are stressed about everything. Working, paying rent/bills, pandemic, just existing here is exhausting. Now on top of that you expect people to care about politics that truly aren’t ever going to change in the grand scheme of things. The electoral vote shows that and people hate to admit that are votes aren’t that much of a decision maker. Also depending on your state your vote truly doesn’t matter because the state is either red or blue and more than likely won’t change. Entertainment is escapism, whether it’s a rap beef or dragging Amanda for ways she triggers people it’s not something that stresses people out, it’s a way to actually decompress and laugh at someone else. We need escapism otherwise people’s mental health would be even worse than it is. That’s the main reason why entertainment is the biggest industry here because our country is a pressure cooker in so many ways.

I think it’s odd that Plies and this panel can’t seem to understand that it’s possible for people to do both. I do. I listen to podcasts who do a range of topics like the rap beef, politics, ect. So if Plies can’t do that. That’s on him. We are in an age of misinformation and AI, getting good information on politics is a bit challenging so don’t get mad at people for “not caring”.
