What would happen if the Master from the original Fallout game was victorious in defeating the vault dweller and raiding vault 13?

Imagine waking up as Mr House about 170 years after the bombs dropped, only to find out all of Vegas is filled with mutants.

I love the irony with this ending in relation to the master's plans. The master wanted to unify people under a new race, but by becoming a threat to humanity, he's inadvertently unified everyone against him. He achieved his goal, just not the way he wanted.
  • An alternate history of alternate history. Now you're thinking with portals.

A similar scenario could occur if vault 13 never had a problem with the water chip. In fallout 2 it’s mentioned in vault 8’s computer records that vault 8 was supplied with a surplus of water chips due to some kind of shipment error. If the water chips were distributed evenly between the vaults as intended then it could also result in this alternate history scenario.

I really like the idea of a Enclave-Brotherhood alliance

Mr House might wake up if the Master’s army entered Nevada. I believe he said the reason why he went online is because he detected the NCR entering Vegas and knew he had to greet them and show them he was not something they could just conquer.

Remember this, the Enclave have access to ICBM's and a space laser. There is no doubt in my mind they would end the world a second time.

One goal, one purpose, one people. Unity

The hopeful ending in a nutshell The master:your already a mutant, ready to join us Frank horrigan:time to die mutie The master and 5 other super mutants: do 500 damage in a turn Frank horrigan: laughs that tickled one shots the master with his hands
  • Enclave-Brotherhood Alliance just sounds so good for some reason
  • @chrisamon4551
I’ve thought about this too and also concluded that the Brotherhood and the Enclave would team up eventually to take on the Master, with the two groups either becoming staunch allies or maybe turning on each other after the common threat had been eliminated.

Finally someone actually notes where on the timeline X-01sits and why we don't see it in older games.
  • @mkepioneet
Interesting stuff. My thoughts were simply "well it doesn't matter since the Enclave will just genocide everyone in 80 years" before this, but you've given me more to think about
  • @Axl4325
Now, depending on how badly the Enclave wants the FEV, they can also just drop some bombs on the main door so all the mutants inside die off and the Master loses access to the FEV. Or if they really want it yeah assault the base

What is the NCR never existed? What if The Institute wasn’t real, but fear of the institute was?
  • @maximus4765
I personally think it'd be interesting if the calculator's robots fought the institute, or even 4's mechanist, but I think their means of production would be too far apart from one another to reach eachother effectively.
  • @CoffeePotato
So now someone needs to make an XCOM mod where you're fighting the Master's Army as the Enclave.
