Title: how to pronounce Uranus
Video: you don't -
I did a paper on Uranus, and when I got to the layers, I titled it “ A look inside Uranus “
-
I love pronouncing Uranus in the Finnish way, which is said Oo-ra-nus.
Its fun to see if others notice this. -
In Polish, it's called Uran (pronounced Ooo-ran), the same as the element Uranium
-
King George has a dark spot, King George is a Gas Giant
Yeah, problem solved -
Let's just do what Futurama did and rename it "Urectum".
-
Ive always referred to it using the Greek pronunciation, "oo-ron-os". keeps things so much more mature xD
-
In Swedish it also translates perfectly into "out from anus"
"Ur Anus"
or just "from anus" depending on context -
"You're-in-us" is the preferred pronunciation for cannibals.
-
Earth can be fit into Uranus multiple times
-
Wait. I actually love the pronunciation of oo-RON-ohs or maybe a combination like oo-RON-us. Also, yes, I am 10 years late to the party.
-
As an elementary science teacher with a penchant for both accuracy and propriety, I have chosen to teach the pronunciation as the Greeks would have:"Oo-ron-ohs", the way he describes it fleetingly at 3:14.
It seems the easiest way to avoid the uncomfortable banter that follows the other ones. And it is historically accurate. -
We should change Neptune's name to "mypeenas", and we are all set.
-
"There will be only 7 planets left, after I destroy Uranus"
-
10 years later and these videos are still some of the best on the platform.
-
If they named this planet Caelus instead, I don’t think Uranus Jokes would exist now.
-
I am a mature adult.
I am a mature adult.
I am a mature adult.
"Hubble just spotted something massive coming out of Uranus" -
“NASA goes deeper into Uranus”
understandable have a great day -
Wow, it's amazing how far Grey videos have come, working with animators has really helped him
-
As a kid I learned Your-anus, like everyone I suppose.
But day one of my Astronomy classes the teacher said, |It's pronounced Yur-in-us.". And a whole class of teenagers adjusted our pronunciation pretty much instantly. Decades later I still call it Yur-in-us.
Though I'm really liking that Greek pronunciation. Yoo-ra-us is nice.
