Wow, these skits were deeper than I remembered as a child.

It’s amazing how believable Vicki Lawrence is as Mama at such a young age.

I have over 100 channels and here I am watching YouTube videos of The Carol Burnett Show because there’s nothing on that even comes close to this nowadays. Carol is pure comic genius! Thank you for posting.

I have an aunt like Ellen. Cheerful smile followed by back handed compliments every time she opens her mouth. Thank God we only see her once a year.

Betty White and Carol Burnett are just chewing through the scenery here. More acting talent in this episode than ten Oscar winning movies together!
  • Mama's family is one of the only shows that makes me laugh out loud still 40 years later.

There is something about these comedy sketches with Eunice and Mamma that touches on a sadness at the same time . How many of us are there that have known the deep despair and anger from trying to please someone that never will be pleased no matter how hard you may try .
  • Poor Eunice. She is so justified in telling those two women off. They treat her terribly

Carol burnett here is oscar winning performance in my eyes. Her anger is so justifiable and delivered on cue...amazing acting !

I think the main reason Mama's familly was so well liked, is that so many can relate to it.

I love how Eunice tries to stay up and happy despite being constantly put down by everyone.
  • As a child this was so hilarious. As an adult I can see how dysfunctional it is but the acting is amazing and the skit is entertaining. RIP Betty White.
  • Watching this and remembering the beautiful Betty White. Passed away today at the age of 99, 17 days before her 100th birthday. May she Rest In Peace. ♥️😭

Betty White in her prime, but then again she is always in her prime.

It's amazing how much dialogue they had to recall for these extensive monologues!! They were all truly quality stage actors!🤗
