How did this work out? These bmw diesel are awesome engines!

Sounds great, are you driving a mercruiser leg and if so how do you work around the gear select switch on the back plate, you will find it goes into forward and reverse easily but will not like to come out of gear ( back into neutral). You will find that you need to remove the load some how to get it out of gear. Mercruisers answer to this on the petrol engines was to ground out the coil with this switch to almost stall the engine thus taking the drive off it momentarily allowing you to get it out of gear. I wonder if you have noticed this once your on the water and if so how have you solved this problem? I am assuming that this engine is all electronic, ie common rail etc and controlled by an ecu.

Do you still sell this typ of engine? If yes when can I bay? I need 2pcs. Do it fits to a bravo one?

Water cooled exhaust manifold, direct connection on the original mercruiser outlet. Mercuiser bellhousing. Nice!

Seems like this BMW engine has been decoupled from it's respective car and transformed into a marine engine. Hardly have I seen BMW making any BMW marine engines. I think this is the first if the creative ideas.

Nice work ! I want to build one for my boat to replace a 4.3V6 petrol, is the exhaust manifold cooled by engine water or heat exchnager water please? I'm wondering if the engine will keep cool enough with manifold cooling also.

We have a marinated x5 3litre from an 02 car in a bayliner which was done before we purchased it but now won’t start we think it’s the ecu can you help ? Thanks mike
