Speech-language pathologists are a vital part of Loyola’s rehabilitation team. In the hospital setting, they help patients recover from strokes, traumatic brain injuries, surgeries and prolonged illnesses like those related to cancer and organ transplants. Speech-language pathologists perform assessments for dysphagia, as well as video swallow study and fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES).
