Found some neat rock and mineral specimens in my creek along with some common fossils. Any help with identification is greatly appreciated as I am only a beginner!

  • Cool finds! Lots of fossils ! Im not sure that you're looking at an agate there but I could be wrong ! It takes a bit of an eye to start finding them, keep looking though you'll get there! I'll sub your channel and try to help with any identifying that I can
  • Hey bud, Thanks for letting me know about the video. I absolutely love those fossils. They’re beautiful. I do reckon the green/red one is Jasper. It’s pretty colours. I’d say you were pretty much spot on as far as I can’t tell, but I do think the piece you thought was agate might be some form of a banded Jasper type thing. Which is basically made up of the same form of crystals ie chalcedony, but it has so much impurities and inclusions of matter in it that it’s not see through like the chalcedony that makes up agate. I’m always super cautious of giving identifications because I don’t want to give the wrong information haha. So take what I say as a guesstimate type thing. I hope I helped a little at least bud, and I hope you’re feeling better after Covid. I look forward to seeing more of your finds. Honestly the fossils are awesome!
  • the one with a pinky-brown and green combination could be unakite.
