it's always painful to see good blades get disqualified due to parameter failure

First season like - take steel, make knife. Five seasons later - produce somehow steel from wood and make a historical sword in 30 minutes.

JD Smith.... Well known, very popular bladesmith. Made a silly error on Forged and Fire. Never returned to redeem himself. Would have genuinely liked to have seen that.

"It will keel," mimics David Baker.
  • @Rambogner
Sad that JD forgot another steel. The other guy with the big blade just outright lied….12 and some change.

Contestants should immediately record the parameters given to them on paper. Human memory is volatile. deja vuβ€¦πŸ˜…
  • In general when it comes to cannister Damascus, which is usually the better option: grinding the can off or peeling the can off? I've seen both options done countless times on this show, but I'm still not quite sure which is the better option?
  • Asking rookie bladesmiths to quickly build a blade from canister damascus... there might be whoopsies
  • @sharksrcbash
What is it with these guys not paying attention to the parameters.
  • @Kualinar
Only one metal and slightly to short VS. 0.5 inch to long. The first can't be corrected, the second CAN. The choice was very obvious.
  • Sometimes I wonder how some of these guys get on the show when they quench their blade so hot you can tell they’re a straight up amateur
