ACTUALLY Beating Super Meat Boy As Tofu Boy

i find it absolutely hysterical that tofu boy is such a bad character that he literally has to cheat and abuse glitches/exploits to get anything done

Ok, but the idea of being able to phase through walls at the cost of not knowing where you are feels like it could be a neat mechanic for a video game with some small tweaks

If super meat boy ever gets a sequel, I hope they give tofu boy the ability to phase horizontally through walls

to be honest, that whole thing Peta made is beyond propaganda. this is basically like "I drew myself as the chad and you as the soyjak" but... five times more pathetic.

Peta's game made Tofu boy the hot hunk who only had to save Bandage girl because of Meat boy's jealousy. This playthrough made Tofu boy the ultimate underdog, having to work past his disability and warp time and space to save Bandage girl. The original was so much better than the parody that it made its own character more likeable on accident!

Man, you cut 28 impossiible/theoretically possible levels down to 9. That's over 2/3 unbeaten levels cleared! Mad props!

3:20 software developer here. It's not running calculations in the background at all. This is exactly why you see this happening. Each frame it's multiplying the player's movement by the time since this last frame. Typically this is a really small amount. But when you alt/tab out of the game the game essentially freezes. When it regains focus, however long it was frozen it multiplies like it usually does, only now the value is way larger than expected. The reason walls get skipped is because the game never checks if the next movement point goes through a wall because this technically shouldn't be possible. It checks if current pos + (vector * time) lands you in a wall, if so then you have collided. If your movement pushes you clear past the wall, then as far as the game is concerned you're good to go.

I sorta want it to be canon that Tofu boy can actually do the alt glitch whenever they want to. So Tofu boy can just canonically teleport around, but only horizontally without help or vertically with a vertical conveyer belt.

I love the idea of a character that is so physically garbage but has specific really stupid hax that they use in a smart way to win.

Edmund recently said on Twitter that he went undercover on PETA's forums to raise awareness about a "new hit indie game" so he kind of purposefully got them to notice the game and respond to it which is hilarious

So the alt glitch and jump glitch are two of the most well known techniques in the game, yet no one ever thought to combine them until now??

Man PETA really decided to take meatboys name out of context. He doesn't have skin which is why he's called meatboy and bandage girl is his perfect counterpart because she can help the skinless problems. You put a bandage or bandaid on a cut.

Ah yes, meat boy has extreme parkour skills while tofu boy can ... teleport and phase through solid matter. fair enough. This reminds me a lot of Zip-tech from Elden Ring speedruns, just on a smaller, more controlled scale.

I love the idea of "I have to warp space and time to do what everyone can do normally" could make a great series

I would like to see how fast a TAS could do 5-4 with these glitches, feels like the skill cap is really high in that one
