Face reveal y'all and also, now that I think about it...this song might be a 9/10. I'm still trying my best to comprehend what bro daisuke cooked lol. Still new to this kind of format so feel free to give feedbacks. Also, if you're interested in let's plays w/ some music analysis sprinkle on it. • "Is she crazy" you're asking that about a character with a mode called "jealous rage" and whose primary motivation is getting a large cursed talking battleaxe a human body so she can marry him.
  • I looked at reddit and saw this comment more or less explaining Saba's theme "In my opinion, the theme is ABA embracing the fact that she’s weird. The fact that people will say things negatively about her but at the same time those words could be positive or that they could view her in a positive light. It’s also saying that trying to fit in or please other people is just pointless and to just be your weird self and do your own thing." Paracelcus ,her key also tries to convince her to make bonds with other people too. I also believe the organs during the jazz break at the halfway point in the theme are a call back to her original theme "keep in gates"

In addition to everything other people in the comments have said, the change from "I'm just a quirky note in a symphony" to "WE'RE just quirky notes in a symphony" and "Let's journey together" may symbolize her character arc in Strive's story mode. Up until now, while she has genuinely loved Paracelcus (the key) her jealous nature has lead to a very toxic relationship, with her assuming everyone's out to take Para away from her, and her never listening to him. Despite this, that love is at least somewhat recipricated, as Paracelsus doesnt want to leave her, just wishing she would listen to him. He even admits that he hasnt been the best partner either, as the reason they partnered up in the firstplace was due to Para's bloodthirst, using ABA to participate in battle. In the end of their arcade mode, they both vow to try to better themselves and have a genuine relationship despite their natures as inhuman beings (Demon axe and Homonculus), hence the transition from the song talking only about ABA to "we", refering to ABA and Paracelsus. I can't wait to see how they expand upon these themes if ABA shows up in a future Guilty Gear game "Even if we don't know... No, BECAUSE we don't know... We can work it out together." - Paracelsus

Daisuke is so awesome that he can make "blah blah blah-blah blah-blah blah, blah, blah" sound good
  • @Zetawavez
12:00 the lyrics of “I don’t need to fit in this world” I can’t help but feel like ABA is still in extreme pain/hurt with how that drum fucking hammers away even if she believes those words.

We thought 'Drift' (Happy Chaos Theme) was Chaotic and now This comes along and smacks it out the park
  • so abas lore is that shes an artificial life form created by someone but as she was born she lost contact with all other signs of humanity for 10 years not understand what she was or who she was and not understanding why shes conscious and has the ability to think and feel after she finds her weapon which is that key with a face thats somehow alive she becomes obsessed with it and is now trying to understand what it actually means to exist so thats why in the song they have so many random words with different meanings

What I get from the lyrics is that ABA's been trying to fit in to society by abiding by society's virtues (Courage, Integrity, etc) she's protecting herself from society's judgment by trying to follow their virtues (an armor of words) but instead of feeling like she's fitting in and being accepted, she feels weighed down and restricted (words weave a stealthy chain), so she's given up on trying to fit in(Break out, Break out) and leaning full tilt into just being herself, embracing her qualities that everyone dislikes(Normal or not, no big deal), and screw anyone's opinion on it.

Those are the official lyrics provided by Naoki himself

aba is simply a crazy ass who married a sentient key, he's fine with it

A.B.A is frankestain's monster, but her creator abandoned her, and left her imprisoned and alone for 10 years. She is obsessed with keys becouse of the freedom they reprecent, and that is why she loves Paracelsius (he is a living axe that changes shapes). She does not know how to interact with people, and has LOW self steam, so she gets really jelous and violent, a little toxic. In GG strive she accepts she is toxic and tries to let Paracelcious go, but he tells her that he still loves her even if she has her moments. That is why the second half of the song she talks about "we" "we are quirky notes"!
  • Daisuke's songs in Strive by traditional standards for musical composition SHOULD NOT work but since he's so talented. His chaotic music is actually genius. In short Daisuke isn't following a formula, he's the guy that CREATES formula's for others. The more you understand music whether it's instrumentals, composition, percussions, or even just basic musical theory the more you realize that Daisuke is operating at a very high level. To the average normie his songs feel chaotic and random but everything is masterfully crafted from the lyrics "BLAH BLAH BLAH" referring to ABA being childish and ignoring the virtues she brought up earlier or even listening to the drum roll around 2:11 of the song. Dude is literally coming up with new ways to make music and new genres entirely. It's....frankly genius. No other way to describe it.

Your mannerisms were really funny to see. Nice reaction.
  • Fantastic reaction and breakdown. Your energy and enthusiasm is so good. Really an informative vid.

People used to consider ABA a meme character and just made as a joke but her coming back to GG after 20 years just proved them all wrong lol Her axe's name is Paracelsus and he's a good bean with a very soft voice compared to ABA's rough trembly voice. He used to be bloodthirsty but changed after meeting ABA and the pair married. ABA is a good bean too but she's easily overwhelmed with powerful jealousy and love due to her nature as a homunculus (her hair used to be red but has since become green as it is made from copper) which made her very shy and lacking of confidence. Paracelsus helped her through a lot of that just by being with her and she helped him get over his own bloodthirsty nature (blood grants him power). In Strive, ABA is on a quest to try and find Paracelsus a human vessel as ABA is worried his body is deteriorating.
