It's time for more Pokemon! Today we continuie our journey alongside Ash Ketchum, the main character for the Pokemon anime that we have followed for over a couple of decades now. As of now, Ash has officially ended his journey in the anime as we continue on our video series detailing Ash and his compelte journey in the world of Pokemon. So to celebrate the character more, we now enter the 8th generation of the Pokemon anime, the Journeys era (also known as the Sword and Shield era), as Ash makes his way to... well, which ever region he wants, when he wants as this is the final series that ends Ash's Journey completely. There's a lot to be said, but as of today, the final episodes that sunset Ash's Pokemon Journey have been released in the United States, 25 years to the date that the original first series of the Pokemon anime premiered. With this final batch of episodes dubbed "To Be A Pokemon Master", we follow Ash's last moments in the anime as we get to see where we leave the character at... at least for now, who knows if Ash will one day return to the anime.

As someone who grew up with Pokemon, but didn't have time (as many adults don't) to keep up with the anime, Jordan's series about Ash's journey has been a godsend and a fun ride along the way to be the very best like no one ever was.

Summarized over 25 years of Pokemon in almost 16 hours. What a ride.

Those final 5-10 minutes in the Ash versus Leon battle was beyond a perfect ending for the characters involved. Couldn't help but to cry my eyes out once the screen cut to black, seeing all the pokémon (including Primeape, which was a pleasant surprise) going into the original themesong. What a moment and a perfect ending to a 25 years in the making story. Guess we're all grown up now.

Convinced he made the last 3 videos in a single batch. There’s no other way to explain how he made it this so quickly

These last 25 Years were truly fun, weren't they?

Journeys was fan service and no way can someone convince me otherwise. They finally gave ash a team that was fully evolved (aside from the obvious being Pikachu), ash got an actual mega evolution to make up for not getting one in the region where they were introduced (still annoyed they did they), ash got some fan favorite pokemon that, ash beat strong champions, and to top it off ash won a legitimate tournament (i know he won alola but come on, it was the first ever alolan tournament) truly a fun way to end the 25 year journey with ash

You’re spoiling us Jordan, wow. Such quality videos back to back to back, I hope you’re getting some rest man. Big ups and mad respect

I love how the actual final episode is of the AU Ash that was starting to be featured in the movies. People forget, because this is the last time we’ll see the prime version of Ash. We might never see his alternate variant either. Y’Know, the one who’s only caught a Caterpee & Charmander. I also like how the final episode was drawn in the style of the first 7 gens of the anime. With the more angular shapes & smaller line work. It felt nice to have a final send off to this art style ‘cause while the new art style was great. That first style is how most people saw Ash for so long so it’s nice to see that acknowledged in the final episode.

As soon as I finished part 7 you drop this. What a legend

I do love how in Journeys they made sure to reflect how much Ash had grown, absolutely taking a mentoring role for Goh and Chloe where he could. Honestly I wish they had the idea for this series earlier so we could've had more seasons of it, but it's a fantastic way to close out the era regardless.

Watching this whole saga was a trip down memory lane especially for the early seasons. It was a nice touch having this finale episode come out on the animes 25th anniversary

The perfect ending for the series. It's got a couple flaws, but it makes up for it with it's incredible strengths. I adore Journeys.

Damn, i started watching this when i was 6 and now 25 years later, it still makes me cry. What serendipitous and unbelievable sense of closure it gives me to watch this epic 8 part series in its complete continuity! It truly feels momentously nostalgic to finally get to rewatch Ash's entire journey all the way from the beginning to the end and catchup with the all the pokemon stories at once. Thank you so very much Jordan for allowing so many of us to rediscover and say goodbye to this iconic part of our childhood, which at some point we all left incomplete. :*

WTF this season of the anime sounds a thousand times more fun than the game ever was, just imagine how fun it would be being able to go back and forth from different regions having special events on each one, getting to battle familiar faces from old gens, that would be awesome!!!

Got teary eyed when the og squad came back to push Pikachu to get up. While wasn't the biggest fan of the Sun and Moon series I think the part where he goes back to Alola and they all start chanting champion for Ash is a nice moment.
  • This series, even if it has flaws it's still pretty solid. It gave us the best conclution to the entire series. The story of ash was great, goh's story was nice (could have been better of course) and chloe was nice too. Even if a lot of filler episodes are bad, i don't think that makes the series bad. When i'm on twitter i found a lot of people saying "journeys is mid, horizons is multimillion times than journeys", i think a lot of people hated some things of this season because they didn't get what they wanted or just didn't liked. Journeys was truly one of the best series of the entire Anipoke's history. I'm glad that ash ketchum existed, without him we wouldn' t even get the web series or horizons. I'm happy that i grow up with this guy, without him i would have been depressed as a lonely kid. Thank you Ash Ketchum, see you next time as the journey continues.

Thank you so much Jordan, Pokemon was always close to my heart, but adult life hard, but could not keep up after the hoenn episodes, this playlist gave me back a part of my childhood and the memories I had forgotten. You have completed my inner child's heart !

I really grew up with pokemon, remembering watching the first episode back when I was in kindergarten and being into the games all the time and on-off with the anime. Around the time the final Ash episode aired in Japan, my son was born. And honestly, that's when I really felt grown up, taking responsibility for another human being and all that. So I really got emotional watching it and probably will ever be.
