By the way, that's not a whip, it's a Savvy stick; quite different than a whip. It's basically a stick with a string on the end used as a body language prop.

I got kicked by a horse on my uncle's ranch well over fifty years ago, and I'll never forget it. My brother and cousin were standing by it and petting it, and I came running up from behind it and surprised it. The kick grazed my chest, otherwise I doubt I'd be here today, but it was enough to knock the wind out of me and put a bruise on me that didn't completely fade for a couple of weeks. The experience didn't instill a fear of horses in me, but for a long time after that I never approached one from behind, even if I knew it knew I was there.

That was a love tap

That poor woman , and what a trooper! She continued her job even though she had to have been in a lot of pain. Hope her employers are paying her what she deserves.

That woman is made of pure steel.

Yes I think she definitely should have put a halter and lead on the horse and done let him out to the pasture manually, however, I do like the fact that she didn't get abusive with the horse for aiming and kicking at her. Most people (whether you'd like to admit it or not) would get a whip and beat the horse for kicking at them. It just makes me happy knowing that people like her can handle a situation like that maturely, and just carry on with what their supposed to be doing.

I love how that woman just keeps on working like a boss.

My friend has a barn with 6 saddlebreds. I've never seen her just open a stall and let a horse run out on it's own. She always leads them where they need to go.

I love that she stayed so calm. So many people lash out at animals if they get hurt by one.

I just ran across this video and read some of the comments and have to make my own comment. My family has run a barn for a very long time with at times over 80 horses at a time. We let our horses out in a similar manner as this. The problem with this person is she did not have control of the situation when letting out the 2nd horse she was on the wrong side of the door when she opened it. By being on that side of the door that horse came out and turned away from her which got the attention of the white horse to come back in the barn then she was in he mix and totally out of control. This just shows how inexperienced she is with horses. Sad to see and glad she was ok.

This is why you lead horses out and shut the gate behind you each time. She's lucky she wasn't seriously hurt.

You cant deny she took that pretty well, made of nails!

She took that kick like a champ. Good handlers keep their cool when something goes wrong, a bad handler will freak out and blame the horse.

1:52 : "heh! nice try, twinkle toes. my ex-husband hit harder than that!"

that horse knew exactly where it was kicking. he wasn't just being frisky and stretching it's legs.
-
That horse was fired up way before she let him out!
