A man who did the best he could of showing us that a leader is in office to serve. He spent his last moments at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, Ghana. Not laying in a hospital abroad like some of our leaders. RIP Jerry John Rawlings.

Though not a Ghanaian, I live in Ghana and I've seen him before, once cleaning the gutter in front of his house on a Saturday morning alone, also he was coming from a trip sometimes ago, and there was heavy traffic (hold up) he got down from his car and started directing traffic broad daylight.. not speaking lies.. he was who they said.. JJ Rawlings couldn't hurt a fly though a military man. You see him mostly in white shirt flooding his hands when doing nothing in public. Rest in peace Papa JJ

Let's keep it real, not matter how much you hate Rawlins, his intervention was really timely else Ghana would have been worse off. Thanks to him, democracy has come to stay in Ghana. Rawlins was a leader not a ruler. Unfortunately, his vision for Ghana wasn't entirely realised but we are still grateful Papa J.
