Once one of major league baseball’s biggest stars, Torii Hunter, a.k.a Spiderman joins The Pivot to discuss how he refrained from being imprisoned by his upbringing and achieved success.

A young man growing up in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, no stranger to poverty, Torii was angry that an impoverished childhood chose him. He didn’t know that his pain would eventually serve as schooling and motivation to become one of the MLB’s biggest stars.

Torii sits down with Ryan, Channing, and Fred to talk about overcoming the imprisonment of his pain, learning to be of service to others, and the role money plays in your relationships.

  • Went to spring training after a tournament in Arizona with my team when i was like 10. Don’t remember how it happened but Torii saw us and sat down and talked with us about baseball for at least a half hour. The only thing I remember is him talking about curveballs. “If it’s low let it go, if it’s high let it fly, they hang it you bang it.” Always loved him since then. Took time for no other reason than knowing it was beneficial to us. Torii is a real one!
  • This is the only podcast that could sit down with Barry bonds an have a real sincere conversation. I'd love to hear his thoughts on baseball right now. He is a hall of famer tori is also a hall of famer.

Got a chance to go to visit his business “The Culture” and he was there. He sat and talked with us when he really didn’t have to. Truly a great guy. He has the ability to make you feel like you have known each other for years. Great interview!!!!

  • This is my new most all time favorite guest, and I have quite a list of favorites I don’t follow baseball, I don’t actually know who this gentleman is as a player, but he is an amazing human being: deep, thoughtful, very intelligent, worldly, stellar sense of humor, full of wisdom. On and on and on! Thanks, gentlemen!
