  • Props to the birds for speaking up and telling these guys to inform us!
  • I miss my budgie Johnny, he was the best pet I ever had. We did everything together, the only time he was ever in his cage was at night time when we went to sleep but other than that we watched tv together, we ate together, we showered together, during the summer I brought him outside with me when his wings were clipped and in the winter he flew around my house. I had other birds too but I always felt he bonded to me instead of to a female bird like my other budgies did. He’s also the only budgie I ever had that could talk well

My bird loves whenever a phone call happens, he will always come up to the phone and start chirping excitedly, bobbing his head, ect. Is my bird just built different?
  • @lindapaupst7042
Thank you. So helpful. I have had budgies for a decade. Love their cheerful chirping. Mine LOVE music... Especially light airy classical with violins, high pitch, happy sounds like David Garrett, Sara Brightman, Hungarian Gypsy Dances. They compete joyously with those.

My bird loved to be chased. I would approach her and would say 'who's gonna get ya?'. If she perked up, it meant she wanted to play. If she didn't react or put her head down it meant she didn't. The excitement of trying to out-maneuver me really got her happy, and she won quite a few of those games. She would fly over to me and gloat after her victories. That one was full of personality, and she lived a lengthy 12 years. :)
  • I have a little over 15 years experience with parrots and can tell you most HATE being clipped on a much deeper level than being annoyed! It truly takes something big away from them

I had 2 budgies, the first one was fine with trimming nails and wing feathers (she even sang and chattered during the clipping) but the other one never got used to it. He wasn't very social with people (he'd been in a home where they neglected him) but he had the other bird for company and seemed to be just fine provided I didn't try to hold him.

It's not easy being a bird owner, but I'm glad I'm not doing most of the things in this video 😅
  • @arifunnahar8350
1:38 I can relate My blue budgie : Climbs up on yellow bird . Yellow bird : GET DOWN FROM MY BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • @shinyjules8088
The sad part is sometimes picking them up when not wanted is technically..... needed. Like if the bird is getting into trouble something it shouldnt. I used to have to pick up a very naughty budgie for picking apart my grandmothers plants and he bit me every time.
  • I just thought, that my bird likes to talk to the phone, too xD
  • The first one is definitely not me,my budgies just bath when I give them a bowl of water and the third one is kinda me,like I just sometimes have to turn on the light at night. U should definitely make a part 2! ❤️💕❤️❤️
  • @Nyokari
My brother got a budgie and he’s been watching your videos so he is able to take care of him! His name is Tori! Thank you so much!
  • @raccew7908
I am getting my budgie today and your videos help me a lot. Keep going
  • @ErgonomicDesk
I know all of this! I'm glad that I'm being a proper bird owner and that I'm not missing anything that would make my birds unhappy.
  • @Frenchmisto
Wow, for a complete beginner at raising a bird, I’m actually not doing too bad.. thanks for pointing out 2 things I didn’t know I should avoid doing: petting her back and answering phone calls! I’ll be careful of these 2 things now (well also the lights on when she sleeps though she likes to nest between the curtains..)
  • @Zach_Bloomquist
I run a petstore and hate having to clip my budgies wings. We do it for their own safety so that if they get loose from their habitat somehow they can't get up high into the ceiling or air conditioning. I always steer people toward a large cage even if they are only getting a single bird. My own two budgies at home are allowed to roam outside their cage all day (supervised). They are only kept out of the kitchen and bathroom and off my book shelves.
  • @Iceyaspicey
2:52 its because of the radio waves it emmits. it messes with a birds natural compass and which direction they are looking in

Thank you for your videos I am going to get a budgie next week. Your videos helped me a lot to know about the budgies. ♥️♥🐦🐦
