Israel-Hamas war: Aid delivery from temporary pier begins in Gaza | LiveNOW from FOX

Published 2024-05-17
The delivery of aid from the temporary pier has begun in Gaza, according to U.S. Central Command.

International experts say all 2.3 million of Gaza's people are experiencing acute levels of food insecurity, 1.1 million of them at "catastrophic" levels.

U.S. military officials hope to start with about 90 truckloads of aid a day through the sea route, growing quickly to about 150 trucks a day.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces have moved into the border crossing in the southern city of Rafah as part of their offensive, preventing aid from moving through, including fuel.

LiveNOW's Austin Westfall spoke about the aid delivery and other headlines from the Israel-Hamas war with Dr. Asaf Romirowsky, executive director of Scholars for Peace in the Middle East.

Why not give the food and money to poor Americans?

I just don't understand why the West keeps providing aid to Gaza while Hamas reaps the benefits. Why can't the Middle East provide aid since they are a lot closer? I see this as another waste of resource that Hamas will use.
  • Always interesting to listen to Dr. Asaf Romirowsky. Good interview by Austin Westfall. The Fox reporters are good at letting experts present their knowledge! Appreciate it!👍

Aid needs to be sent with guards, for Hamas steals from aid trucks. Ironic that hostages are starving and dying, while the civilians of Gaza get aid. Free The Hostages NOW!!
