Goddamnit, why wasn't this band ever more popular in the US? If you all could indulge me for a minute... I first heard of Status Quo back in '82. My highschool friend and I were at a record store and they were selling 8-tracks for $1 each. One of those crappy tapes was "Status Quo Live '77." My friend said, "I've heard of this band" so we bought it. Best... fucking... live... album we'd ever heard. Ever since, I've been a Quo fan. So fucking sad they never made it big in the States. Such a great band!

I was a little kid in Mexico. I bought a cassette with this concert but it didnt sound that good, then later i bought another one, just a little better, then another one, etc. one day i found someone was selling this in betamax and I bought it but I didnt have where to play it until i found a friend that could play it for me. I was obsessed with finding a recording with good sound, I found something decent on tape and I would rock on it. So many years later I could finally see them live in Frankfurt, great sounds and they right in front of me. I just love them. Rick, keep rocking in heaven, I will join you soon.

Back in 1984 my father was the head groundsman for Milton Keynes Development Corporation. Which meant that I got back stage passes to all the concerts at the bowl. This was one of the great ones. In 1986 I spent the summer holidays in the US and missed another classic concert (Queen) but I am truly glad that I was there for this one.

I was at this gig with my wife - an all day affair. Quo fans were a great bunch of people to be around - the whole party atmosphere. Everyone jumping up and down and singing away. What surprises me now looking back at this is just how much fun the band were having up on stage! They were having as much fun as we all were. A truly memorable night, wonderful performance and atmosphere all about having fun. A privilege to be there and a huge thank you to my late wife who got the tickets for my birthday. Thanks to all the members of Quo and the fans too.

These dudes were a psychedelic band in the late '60s but entering the '70's they became a rock and roll powerhouse yes Status Quo was an amazing band!
