One of the BEST upgrades you can do. Control your SPEED and forward/reverse with your fingertips.
IMPORTANT! If you do this, by a minimum 40a PWM...and two of them because one will surly break! [links below]

Good clip! I've done the same thing to my Fishcat. What you need to do is to make a few holes in your box. That unit needs to be cooled (hence the holes on the housing)if not it won't last long!
  • I can't wait to share my pontoon mods this spring. You're going to like them and I can't believe that nobody is posting these yet.

Will, Good video, useful tips but it's Pulse WIDTH Modulator. The PWM chops up the D.C. current into various "widths" of conducted electrical current segments from 0%- no current conducted (OFF) to 100% fulltime conduction(FULL SPEED)

Cool project! Though it works a little differently than you explained but the results are what you intended a reduction in wasted power.
  • @MegaTapdog
put the pwm into a larger box with some offset ventilation, heat is your biggest enemy. a fan won’t use much power but you could just add heatsinks if you want.

Liked. Thanks. May I ask what lbs thrust motor you use, and if you tested the max speed for that motor on still water? Thanks.
  • @Leafyfpv
resistors to slow down the motor, now thats interesting haha, proper upgrade! ~nice pontoon

Hello good morning friend this PWM is useful for a 1000w 15A 90v motor of my electric motorcycle weighs 60kg greetings from Colombia

Thanks for the video, I have a Minn Kota C2 40 and at F1 it draws 6.6A, F2 it draws 8.3A. It's definitely inefficient, but it's not drawing the full amperate (@1A/lbs). Perhaps you can do a clamp current measurement when it's at F1 F2 and F3 then you might see something similar as I've seen.

So I see a lot of fans in box's do you have one and do we nee done in idahh. I fish MUCH of the s a me water that you do , I use a fly rod but still out in the same heat and cold. THANKS for your help rob
  • @HOLYCOWNIPPLESS
hi I have same setup. but when I tested in the water: I have problem:. how to you control or change the direction? you have to use one hand to hold the handle to control the direction, and another hand to control the speed? (before you just use one hand on the handle to control direction and speed) if could put this PWM inside the head, use one hand to control speed and direction. would be perfect. please advise. thanks

I’m expecting my unit to arrive on Tuesday. Do those switches come with the PWM? Or did you have to buy them separately?
  • Awesome video man with a great sense of humor. What gauge wire did you use??
  • When are you going to install drone platform? Enjoying your show. Darhl....Saskatchewan
  • @polymath4fun
Great video and setup. Does the pwm get hot at all in the high tech case?
  • @billhedges3285
I don’t see your description of this part number anywhere some comment or mentioned that to just look at the description where is this?
