Soooo yes we've done a few episodes on exhausts in the past, BUT today we graduate from buying a full exhaust to buying raw materials so we can make our own! Having a loud exhaust is not only rad but it helps the driver with shifting times. And we are 100% into being the best rally drivers in the world so that means we need to make the e36 the best it can be. As our homegirl J.Lo said "let's get loud people." (Jobe hates this joke but I still kept it ... haha). Go watch the vid!

We have a new(ish) channel!

never thought i’d get to see 20 minutes of Zach laying pipe, what a day!

Can we appreciate how much these guys work to film, work on the car, edit, brainstorm the next big idea, and do it all over again. Mad respect
  • I STRONGLY encourage you guys to come to Vegas for a TIG welding class. I'll totally hook you up 👍
  • @adambrand5692
This episode as a whole might be one of Donut’s best ones shot. Editing, Music, Zach, Topic, the whole thing. 10/10

I love watching Garage Jesus. This guy is so relaxing to watch.

Whoever picked the music for this episode, you deserve a raise.

As a welder fabricator, I'd love to see a follow up on how the exhaust holds up over time, instead of back purging too you can use solar flux next time for when you don't want to use the extra argon, the welds become more brittle when you don't back purge too it's not just about the aesthetic and its tendency for rusting quicker, it's worth doing at least a backing plate or something, love what you guys are doing! Killing it for how fresh you guys are, keep at it :)

Should’ve mentioned that cleaning your parts with brake parts cleaner can be extremely dangerous. If your brake cleaner contains tetrachloroethylene, you can expose yourself to an extremely poisonous gas when welding. A lot of the “50 state” brake parts cleaner no longer contains this chemical, they use acetone instead. But always check, and it’s honestly safer to use acetone by itself.
  • Be careful using brake clean, chlorinated produces a deadly gas when welding. I use acetone personally 👍🏼
  • I feel like Zach is the embodiment of the saying, “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.” Keeps me motivated

One tip for your welding, use 1/32 filler rod so you don't have to get it so hot and you will be amazed how much better it looks and how much easier it is to control!

Its cool when you can actually say to yourself "wow i can do that", being a welder and not a mechanic personally
  • @ShockzZiFy
Man that skid plate looks an awful lot like a brand new exhaust
  • @TheIcyWulf
Donut's content quality has gone through the roof this last while. Every video makes me go "Wow, they put real effort into that." Be it the builds, the information, the camera angles, or the editing, every aspect of these videos are becoming better by the week.
  • I like when someone is honest about if something might be difficult. Most people say "it's real easy" about everything when some things might not be. Your honesty helps
  • @ozdunder
i know its unlikely, but i'd love to see this participate in an actual rally event
  • @fraserlewis5767
As a tig welder I appreciate you at least mentioning back purging being the right way to do it. Instead of buying plugs you can use tape or aluminum foil next time but either way good learning experience 👍

I welded up a couple full-length 3" pipes, one for our CHUMP car and one for my E36 ti track car. There is really nothing like the sound of an uncorked BMW i6. I'll never forget the first time I ran it up. WOW I had no idea it could sound that cool. BUT it also made a HUGE difference over the stock exhaust of the M52b28 with S52 cams. Thanks for this one, it was fun to relive it a bit.
