Love it when John unpacks those boxes! Whether you are interested in these things or not, he is very thorough in his presentation which you don’t often see. He’s not forcing it down your neck and leaves it up to you whether you want to get it or not!!

Eating the most nutrient-rich, organic foods for 25 yrs enabled me to avoid the heart attack when seeing the price :-)

I don't normally mind spending money on things like this for the garden. I bought the joraform composter for 800.00 after seeing your video on it - and I LOVE IT. I can't wrap my mind around paying 700.00 for this unit when we can do the same for the price of a pump.

I don't think I'd be willing to pay more than 200.00 for this size and that would probably be pushing the limit. What am I missing? Why is this so expensive?

Hi John, Craig from Adelaide Australia here, I make compost in a static bin in my greenhouse and mix it with RAIN water in a cement mixer. I mix it for about 20 minutes and get great results.

all you need is a 5 gallon bucket, pump and airstone and some compost all for under $20

You are right when you say compost tea brews best at comfortable temperatures, but, it is also true that when you apply your compost teas to your plants, and it is about a hundred degrees, you shock the bio-life in the tea. I have heard it is best to brew at whatever temperature conditions you will be using the tea at. So, feel free to keep it outside. If it goes anaerobic, which happens sometimes, you will not stink your house up.

This is a specialty item and not for everyone but if you are brewing quality tea these are the best. I have had one for years and you can not reproduce the same quality in a bucket with a cheap air stone like everyone states. If you can't justify this setup then don't buy it but that also means you can't afford to drop $200 on a dissolved oxygen tester or a blue lab meter at $300 or even a descent microscope to check your micro activity. All this is not needed for backyard use but if you don't have these things you really don't know anything about what you are brewing or the quality of it and you are just pissing in the wind and guessing. These are good commercial setups for brewing or selling aerated worm teas.

I use a standard 60 gallon garbage container to which I added a drain spigot. I use three air stones connected to standard aquarium air pumps. Works great. Doesn't make noise.
