There's a quote from EDC along the lines of: if we didn't get a CB in the first round, we weren't going to get one who could immediately contribute at all. Basically sounds like they are willing to go with lesser OT / WR talent because the drop off isn't as big as they feared it would be with CB's. In other words, this pick wasn't about picking the best available player, it was about maximizing the talent of the whole draft class. At least now when Humphrey gets hurt again we won't be completely screwed on defense.

On one hand, it doesnt seem very ravens-like to bring in a 170lb db. On the other hand, they collected all the other physical DBs along with guys like Ro, Trenton Simpson, and Oweh can get to the sideline and hit, which is gonna make it hard to target wiggins in screen plays or run support. Such a classic BPA pick, and a complementary skillset to the secondary. Love it

Ravens are flexible in size and speed! You mentioned Hamilton at LB in Dime… but let’s not forget Trenton Simpson at LB.

I was REALLY surprised by this pick but I’m not mad at it. He’ll most likely be the fastest player on the field every game except for a select few. His recovery speed is ridiculous, any & every int could be a house call for 6 💜🖤💜🖤

i think the lions and ravens were smart picking defensive players. i wouldn't be surprised if there is a run for defense early in the 2nd round with how many offensive players were picked in the 1st round.

I'm cool with this pick. He is a great athlete and gritty defender in an area of need... Can't go wrong with that 💜

Wiggins also has covered some starting WRs in the league now and even Walker and Flowers from the Ravens. Hes gonna be a ball hawk with this secondary

I made the comment before the draft (don’t remember what video or channel) that I thought this might happen. I was still a little surprised it was Wiggins. It’s heartening to hear your brief analysis of his play, and EDC made it pretty clear they aren’t concerned with his physicality. I completely agree that they still need to address OL, but the FO has to have full confidence that the current guys can get it done.
