Nicknamed the Bermuda Triangle of Iran, according to Persian folklore, there are malevolent spirits and demons that exist at the heart of Iran’s Dasht-e Kavir (دشت كوير) desert, in an area known as The Rig-e Jinn (ریگ جن) otherwise known as the Dune of the Djinn.

In 1940 did Russian explorers encounter one of these creatures, and how does it connect to the ancient lore surrounding Prophet Solomon, Alexander the Great, flying carpets and 1001 Arabian Nights?

@Mysterious Middle East let me give you a great compliment for all the videos you have posted so far. In the past I have written a few short series for a local tv station so I have some knowledge on the topic. Unfortunately I have had a long streak of misfortune forcing me to spend a lot of time bed resting. That has led to me watching a multitude of videos on all sorts of topics. It was definitely a good thing when I came across your videos. The praise I have for your production is genuine and encompasses everything I have seen so far. Each episode are very well composed. Masterly skillfully filmed. Well researched and contains a lot of intriguing details and anecdotes. That adds to the brilliance of these productions. I very much look forward to watching more of them. So I must say a humble thank you for creating these they make my situation bearable. (Waves and sends a deep curtesy from North Sweden).
  • I once met an Iraqi man who shared a bizarre story: He was driving through the desert one night when he saw a man walking alongside the road. He was bored and sleepy so he decided to pick him up. Shortly afterwards the car began malfunctioning in unusual ways. He pulled over to check what was going on. This was when he noticed that he hitchhiker had legs resembling those of a goat. The man panicked and threatened to 'sew' the hitchhiker with a bullet, explaining that this was an expression military people used back then. Right after he said that the hitchhiker started screaming hysterically then it exited the vehicle and ran through the desert. After arriving to his destination, the driver shared his bizarre encounter with the locals, who did not seem surprised, telling him that those creatures are common in that area. They also stated that the creatures are terrified of needles and threads for whatever reason, which explains why the hitchhiker ran away upon hearing the word 'sew.' Pretty strange I know. I can tell you that the man had no reason to lie to me though, and that he truly believed what he was saying.

In pre Islamic Arabia, whenever people used to travel through a desert, they used to invoke the Cheif Djinn of that area to let them pass by undisturbed.

There was this story that my grandma used to say to us. My grandma lived in a village in north eastern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina. She was the older sister and was around 12 years old taking care of her 6 years younger sister. It was a sunny and warm summer day that day so they decided to play on a swing. My grandma took her younger sister and placed her on a swing which was rather close to the house, and which faced the old wooded fence and the village road, there was some small raspberry bushes and couple of apple and plum trees which wasn't blocking the beautiful view. Grandma was swinging her sister, both of them looked in the same way which the swing was swinging and all of a sudden her little sister asked who is the beautiful woman beside our fence. Like out of thin air she appeared there, around 1.80m tall (for my muricans around 6ft.), dressed in all white, white pale skin, gentle face features with very long gray/white hair which stretched down her back, a young woman in her 20s,she was leaning with her one hand on the fence, occasionally glancing and smiling at them. Grandma immediately took her younger sister and ran to the house yelling to their mom and dad that there was someone at their house. Her father looked through the window and saw her too and felt like it was something that was very unusual to see. He turned around to take his rifle which was a arms length away almost and ran outside but found no one at their fence or around the house. My grandma believed that what she saw was a "fairy", or as we Bosnian muslims say a "wife of a Jinn".

To quote Arthur C. Clarke... "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."
  • In Turkiye we have many many Jinn encounter stories, maybe thousands. My own father had an encounter with them twice, when he was a teenager, approx. 12 or 13 years old. One day he was goat herding and was sitting under a tree, leaning against it and was watching the animals. Suddenly, it was now almost dusk, he saw a Peacock walking between the Goats, but they didn't react to it. Apparently they couldn't see or sense it. It walked a few moments around and suddenly changed its shape into my father's nephew, who was 5-6 years old. That was when my father realised he was dealing with a Jinn and kept his mouth shut and quickly leaved the area. This is what parents teach their children in Turkiye. When you see a Jinn, never talk to it or seek any contact. Because that gives them excuse and power to attack you, they say. Yeah, many many stories of very interesting encounters.
  • as an iranian who have taken few desert trips around central persia, what our team experienced during rig-e-jinn trip was simply physical phenomenon, long story short.. desert ground was solid yet still floating like u r walking over an ocean and the scariest part was the desert floor cracked open and u could hear it like hhhuuuuuuuuuuuushhhh breathing with the sand pop up and we fouund camels skeleton all over.. it was beyyond my comprehension till i watched ur channel ty guys for the awesome info! next time visiting rig e jinn gonna be way more fun :))
  • @LittleKitty22
Wow, the videos on this channel are incredibly well presented! Being from Egypt originally, I'm aware that there are jinn in the desert, some people are so terrified of them they won't go into the desert. Jinn can take on many forms because they trick people until it's too late. This phenomenon of jinn being able to take on any form is also well known in the US, especially Arizona, where they are known as skinwalkers. Native Americans won't talk about these things because when one talks about them, then they appear! Many areas seem to have their own jinn - the deserts, the oceans, the forests and jungles. Be careful out there, folks!
  • I did some research today over that place; apparentely you are strongly WARNED (even today) not to venture into this region. You Will be WARNED by almost everyone, soldiers, citizens, farmers, everyone will tell you the same: Do not go in there.. Sounds funny but it's freaking real. I don't know what the h*** is going over there but i would listen to the people
  • Hello. Sorry for the long absence, me and the guys who helped put this episode together are actually in different parts of the world right now, from Europe to the Far East. Also, sorry for the bad Russian you will see throughout this episode. It is based on a video from the Russian paranormal researcher Paul Stonehill who investigates fringe mysteries that take place in Eastern Europe on his channel (check the description box for a link to his detailed coverage).  Since I cannot verify his story and source the original Russian accounts I couldn't find the correct text to put in some sequences, so hence the bad Russian. But this was too crazy a story to ignore regardless of how much is true or exaggerated, so I covered it regardless, because we actually do have folk traditions of sand monsters that behave this way.
  • Fascinating information When I was little child in the island of Puerto Rico we use to see black shadows running down the street reflected on to a wall at a very high speed but no apparent body to cause the reflection Also by one of the corners at the El Morro old Spaniard castle in Old San Juan there are strange lights traveling in and out the ocean which happened to be one of the deepest in the planet
  • Brother can you please make one about the inner Earth. We Shias believe in civilization deep inside Earth whom we refer to as Dabbatul Ard. We believe that there are secret routes inside the mountains that can reach this unknown realm and only those who have the permission of Allah can enter it. We also believe that in the end times this civilization will come out as a clear sign from Allah and will communicate with Mankind. Our Twelfth Imam whom we call Imam Mahdi AS dwells there. Interestingly I have found that in Indian culture there is mention of a place named Shambala that resembles a lot like what we believe.
  • @beny1366
This desert has multiple quicksand ( sand swaps ) which made it very dangerous for travelers plus you can hear the earth or stones cracking during the night the locals call this phenomena as stones crying!
  • @jentaro
Thank you for another insight into the supernatural and unexplained occurrences of the Middle East. Occurrences I'm fascinated by, yet seem to be best observed from afar in mu opinion, since stories like these never have a happy end in real life. Rest assured, keep working in this direction with confidence. There are many of us who will always be interested in this.
  • @WTF-vv8ic
I live in the United States. Thanks for making these videos. It is a window into something we don’t have access to.
  • My day just got better with a new video. Are the vids that were removed from YT available somewhere.. or is the patreon etc still existing?
  • @arasharam7264
I’m Persian and know of a lot of these and much more supernatural energies in Iran, both dark and good forces are still lurking and active. American troops with helicopters that came to rescue the captured American spies in the American embassy after 1979 revolution, they were destroyed and killed by the same supernatural sand demons.
  • Very Interesting. This opens up a whole new line of investigation. According to a few Iranian friends this could be true as some Jinns live in the desert in that part. You put it together very nicely. Thanks for the Upload.
