My father passed away, and left 20,000 35mm slides. So I built a machine to help digitize these slides.

  • Ya know, what I really think is cool (and it's all extremely festinating!), is the 'ski jump' the spent slides take to get re-stacked. Just super cool!

Somehow got this in my recommendations and I'm more than happy to have watched it. Great automatization, story and pics!

I wanted to build something like that, but on a smaller scale. I don't have that many to scan. Great build!

This is amazing, is there a blog post or instructable explaining the build ? You Should sell it as a kit ;)

This is a very nice contraption but i think adjusting the camera zoom to have the plastic body all out of the photo would have been a much better choice. i did a similar thing back in 2010 when i got my hands on one complete library of such slides. there were like hundere of thousands and what i did was to setup a circular slide sorter. taking one slide from a loaded stacl of slides rotating it 45 degrees to get under camera , another 45 degrees to unload the slide.
  • Dude, Very kool. Excellent kit bashing the Arduino and meccanno parts, truly brilliant.
