Started boiling peanuts last year once I found a source of green ones. Loved them so much I started growing my own. No easy feat here in Eastern Canada but they are doing fantastic. I'll wait till after the first couple of frosts before I harvest.

Thanks for the informative video! I always wondered how it was done! As a Northerner, when I saw my first "Boiled Peanut" sign I was shocked. Sounded...crazy! Now I love em! Fast forward 10 years later, in the pandemic, I miss them, and was looking to cook up a batch myself. Thanks for taking the time to make the video!

Hey, Jeff: Up here in Indiana, we have to import our peanuts, so glad you gave us Northerners another lesson in Southern Country Living! Don't hurt that arm, deer season coming!!! Still praying for you Buddy!!
  • Howdy, Really good info about boiling the peanuts, I'll have to try that sometime and the ham you smoked in the last video looked perfect 👍 interesting approach adding the sausage slices 🤔 Hope you and the family are happy, healthy, your arm heals faster than anticipated, and y'all have a wonderful evening ☺

I’m in South Carolina. I’ve got several videos on digging inverting and combing them. Love me some boiled p-nuts. Thanks for sharing. Have a good one.

A man after my heart...I can eat boiled peanuts ‘til I flounder. My BNL & I do them up in a pressure cooker. 10 minutes a batch then release the pressure. I’ve also pressure canned them in quart mason jars. Same time span but have to let them cool down without releasing pressure to keep the liquid from boiling out. 25#s will yeild about 4 cases of quart jars and last me about a year. 😉. Like spicing them with jalapeños or Tabasco or Valentina Mexican hot sauce. 👍🏻
  • Living in SE Texas, we have eaten boiled peanuts all my life. A bowl full and a beer and I'm a happy man. Great video Jeff.
  • That looks so good! Love watching you and Hannah’s videos! Hope your arms doing better!
  • I moved to Ft. Myers FL in 1981. A man down here from South Georgia owned a corner store and sold boiled peanuts 🥜 cooked in a crock pot with smoked ham hocks, neckbones, and jalapeño 🌶. I still live in Ft. Myers, and I still buy Dave's famous boiled peanuts.
  • Thanks for sharing that with us Jeff. At 16 in 1967 I passed threw your woods and wondered what the crop was. I was on my way from northern Alberta to Kermit Tx. for a ranching job. I stopped and grabbed a handful and started driving and eatin, what a mistake that was. Thanks again Jeff, Cheers, Billy in B.C.
  • Great demonstration Jeff. That stock is great for mustards, collards, and poke.
