I bought this Kubota 4wd diesel tractor a few months ago as a non runner, last time the owner tried to start it, the engine locked up. Turns out he had left it out in the rain without a cover over the exhaust, water entered the engine and it hydro-locked when he turned it over. Lets fix it.

Please never stop making these videos, they’re my absolute favorite to watch
  • To add to your list of tricks: if you put the three point lever in the "lift" position, put a screw diver through the hole in the PTO shaft, and move it back and forth, it will lift the three point manually. I've had to do that a couple of times to move a dead tractor.

Love the feathered apprentices wandering under the tractor.

just hearing your child's delightful, tinkling laughter makes this vid a 10

I've always admired your calm approach to fixing problems. Never any ranting or swearing like a lot of the "will it start" gorillas.

@0:08 - Marty, mate, it's high time you finally got a tractor. I think it's one piece of equipment you have been missing out on! 😄
  • Marty the balloon trick was worth the price of admission and your Daughter loved it it tickled me to see he walking around with a Purse over her shoulder

in a year or so this would be the perfect machine for the wee man to chase his dad around, another nice find. Marty you're pretty lucky to be in the right place at the right time when it comes to deals, 4 wheel drive, a definite keeper.

Looks like a B-70. I resurrected one from someone's scrap pile years ago. Had been used by a landscaping business and run into the ground. Did not take much to bring it back and I used it for several years. Tough little tractor that always hit 'way above it's weight. Lost it in divorce and I have often wished (strongly) I had it back. Congrats Marty!

A Dad getting his kicks at the end there! ....good to see. Nice little tractor.
  • For the life of me a cant understand why people cant put an old tin can or plastic drum on the exhaust stacks if their tractors, its not rocket surgery.

I have a tractor like this, without that handy looking front hydraulic blade. It’s a gem. I just need to keep the battery on trickle charge and it starts every time. My tractor is a b6100dt, 3speed, 4WD, 3speed rear PTO. Its motor is a 650cc diesel. It’s a handy little thing and economical. Don’t put that upper pipe on it as it’s not meant to be there, unless you put a flap cap on it to keep water and other things like wasps out. It will be worth cracking her in half, to check clutch, main shaft seals etc. I was lucky to get a shop manual with mine and I scrounged a parts guide too. I think you can still find them online.

I had one of those little 3 cylinder diesel kubotas- used it and abused it for over ten years and it never let me down! They are very robust if given even a caring look once in a while!! You’ll love it

Watching these videos takes me away from reality…. A comfort zone.

If he'd had replaced that pipe with a glass tube he could have used it as a rain gauge. My first Kubota was almost exactly like that one and I think it had more than 4,000 hours on it when I finally sold it. Tough as nails, but no roll cage spooked me. Thanks for the video!
  • Well done! Kubota B7100 HST-D has been the main work horse of my little property for over a decade. Power and abilities of this machine will surprise you. Biggest little tractor you'll ever own.

I enjoy watching you fix the problems but also listening to the birds you have in the area.
