the saddest ghost deaths for me were amy and Dr. Bose
-
I feel so bad for doctor Bose, he killed himself because he thought he lost the one thing he loved most.
-
Finally! A horror game where there are NICE ghosts who AREN’T trying to kill you!

I really love how realistic this game is, not just from the animation, but also from how the characters act. I know most of us are mad for Rose for not understanding Jimmy's problem, her actions are actually realistic. From when Jimmy was abused for 2 years since he was born, Rose felt really guilty since she wasn't doing anything about it. Its only natural for Rose for siding with him because of her guilt. Some games would make Rose move on from what happened.

It's kinda annoying how the mother just doesn't even listen to any of them and in the end she got herself killed as well
-
Props to Jimmy/ Hugo's actor! Really scared the life out of me!!!
-
The female protagonist literally has the courage to learn about all the place's backstory instead of just escaping lmao
-
Rose is literally EVERY nightmare kid’s mother, kid could be skinning a dog in the middle of a street and they’d still be like “oh he’s just an eccentric soul 🥰”
-
His wig cap is the scariest part😭
-
This game's whole story wouldn't have happened if she took Jimmy's actions seriously.
-
Has anyone ever wondered why Jimmy could know your location when you use the mirror? Hugo's spirit tells Jimmy where you are. Because the mirror is connected to spirits (just like the spirit box). It's kind of like how your parents can track your phone.

in the menu of the game, there's a section called 'Jimmy & DID' (Dissociative identity disorder) the developers wanted to make clear that Jimmy does NOT have DID. Wiki fandom: "The developer has stressed that Jimmy does not have Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), formerly called Multiple Personality Disorder. The note about Jimmy and DID can be read on the game's main menu."

So it’s live action and digital at the same time, woah.
-
Amy’s story makes me feel genuinely sad :(
-
Jimmy: ''Hurts someone'' The victim: ''retaliates'' Jimmy: You got a death wish huh?!
-
Can we also appreciate Maya? She literally went around playing hide and seek with a murderer and managed to figure out the story of 3 mysterious deaths, and saved all her friends. Like how is she so talented?

So not many have pointed this out yet, but back in the medieval age there was a popular type of slapstick puppet show called a "Punch and Judy" about a man (Punch) acting abusively toward his wife (Judy) and others. his catchphrase was "that's the way you do it". So Hugo is a pretty clear reference to this, even repeating the catchphrase at the start. Edit: turns out still a thing in UK. I did not know this/am not English lol

This is how to make you feel sorry for a villain

Rose witnessing her husband abusing her son for over 2 years: 👩🦯 Also Rose when being told by Dr Bose and Harvey that Jimmy's trauma made him a violent psychopath who constantly lies and hurts people: 👩🦯 And she just killed herself when she finally acknowledged how much she had fucked up raising Jimmy 🤦♀️

So I thought this game was perfectly done! The duality of Jimmy & Hugo, the effects of abuse and trauma on people, as well as the broader philosophical ideas of nature versus nurture or the morality of murder in desperate circumstances all culminate in such a rich, well written story. One of the best video game stories I’ve seen in a while!
