I've rode out many a storms in the Houston-Galveston area and the sound of the wind is something I will never forget....the hours and hours of it.

Best wishes from Brasil! Our thoughts are with you all, stay strong U.S.A.!

Awesome video. My horse was about a half a mile from your location at minute 12. He was ok.

The alarm switch was right there at the wall!

You have balls of steel! ๐ณ

This is an unbelievable video. Iโve been through Hurricane Andrew and 4 years ago Hurricane Michael. This brought it all back . ๐ดPlant City๐ดFlorida

Wow that's impressive he is driving literally in the eye and he's unharmed that is crazy smart but also dangerous at the same time
-
Those first shots scream " Florida neighborhood". I used to live in NPR and that reminds me of where I lived. A very common look on the Gulf Coast.
-
This video is INSANE! Glad you survived it ok.

I wish you would have braved the 2nd half of the eye, it was brutal here in Port Charlotte. Footage would have been awesome...it was unlike the first half, that's for sure.

i like how we could watch the cane intensify. ive been in a hundred canes and this type of vid is best

In some ways southern Sarasota County and northern Charlotte County got the worst of the wind from Ian. Ian was a very slow moving colossal sized hurricane. The people in those areas got hit by the northern eyewall for hours and hours. Seeing wind like that is always a pretty traumatic situation. Having it blow like that for hours on end is just really nasty and scary. You just want that wind to let up, but it keeps going for hours.

I thought the alarm going off was very authentic truly placing us in real times conditions, no editing๐๐ฟ4me...it also seems to be his mindset no nonsense! raw as possible footage...not a lot of talking more observing for better realism...Insane anxiety ride yet excellent courageous video!๐ฏ๐ฏ๐๐๐ฟโ๐ฟ๐ค๐

Courageous Thank you for all the perspectives shown The calmness was very eery especially after hearing the incredible loudness and chaos shortly before. When else can you drive on roads and no one is on them- very risky; you did have a calmness as you gave the time and other stats w hich is amazing Many Blessings and Thank you so much. Courageous and Brave ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ

I have family in Miami, Tampa, and Port Charlotte. My Dad lived in Tampa. Iโm afraid for them, praying for those in Florida.

It was really cool that you crossed the Eye from NW to SE through HW 40. I stopped just in the middle of the eye just south of Punta Gorda and turned back towards Charlotte Harbor. The back Eyewall was way stronger than the front Eyewall. Love the the footage of the SSE Eyewall from the distance on minute 52
