Man, how did I miss this video the first time. Stro Elliot is an absolute beast of a musician.

All you negative heads down here are jealous! This mans a G! He pulled that together in a few minuets to demonstration his creative process...its not a mix demo. He also said he was super busy (because he is a total bad ass!) and was surprised he could even get to the show. I for one found this inspiring!

Tempo wise, 85 - 95 is THE sweet spot for Boom Bap production

This man is trying to create........and creative people are engrossed with just watching. Please don't interrupt and ask him another damn question. Let him create....and let us watch.

Nothing better than learning from a master - in action! Riveting stuff. As someone who uses Push on every song I make - it was enlightening. Yahoooo!

36:40 cmon man you could ghost note those kicks if you weren't so lazy... Thank you for this amazing demonstration, you are a legend! This was really interesting, thank you for going through your creative process for all of us to see! It's inspiring!

On point about the right tempo . Just in case anyone interested - Li'L Darlin'g was written and arranged by Neal Hefti for Count Basie Big Band a must to learn standart for any aspiring jazz musician - Jazz is the root of it all - Dig It! 🎹🎷🥁

Serato sample is usually more accurate with the chopping. U can try that instead of the simpler and tell me what you think..

This man is a monster, regardless of how sloppy this presentation was !

I'd like to chime in on the comments about not putting a limiter on the master buss for live demonstration. Depending on the limiter he could have chosen, it will indeed add the slightest bit of latency but not very noticeable; however...for this demonstration, it makes sense to be as close to real-time as possible because there have been times that I get into the zone and bust out something with complex timing and had any latency been introduced, the quantized version would have come out completely different. I speak from real experience. So, it's best just to add a trim as the first insert of every track or lower the volume of the synth if it's an instrument.

Those drums sound ssooo goood does anyone know where he got them? Did he record the drums beforehand?

I like how occasionally he is playing out or recording a clip almost too long and says 'oops' and stops then starts it and the clip automatically ends up being the right length. I wonder if the Ableton team sees when people make tiny overshots or potential errors which are promptly fixed by the software automagically and they think to themselves how great a job they did in making such robust software where it almost knows what the artist is thinking as they create. 'Oops' moments which lead to something not completely dismantling before one's eyes are beautiful when you consider what could potentially have gone wrong.
